We went there on a Tuesday, we came sharp at one o'clock and we didn't have to wait at all, there were no queues. There is an old lady at the ticket counter, she speaks German only, but was very friendly, she tried her best to explain things to us despite the language barrier. You need around 1-1.5h to explore the museum if you don't know German because everything is in German, you can guess some things just by looking at them, if you know German and like reading each and every thing at the museums, then you will need a bit more time. The museum is very informative, it tells about minerals, fossils, different animals and birds and butterflies. On the second floor, there is a computer quiz game (in German) and a machine where you press the buttons and it plays the audio clips of the bird's sound and show their photo and also highlight them in a fake jungle they have created. It would be nice for kids, but it is equally informative for some adults. Overall, it is a very nice museum and very well maintained. I gave them four stars because of lack of English.
Other important information: Not wheelchair accessible No elevator Ticket costs 3 euro per person There is a toilet There is also a...
Read moreSmall but nice museum with a decent collection on geology specialized of course in vulcanoes, fossils, local archaeology, forest and soil and a butterfly collection on top. It is an older style museum so don´t expect fancy and flashy stuff but that is also not necessary. There is some stuff there for kids. If your kids are old enough to understand vulcanism they will enjoy this museum and it is the perfect size not to wear them out. Never before seen so many butterflies and nice to see so many fossils! I would only recommend the museum to replace some labels in the section on forestry and forest animal since some are thorn due to frequent use. Otherwise, certainly a nice pit stop. There is parking nearby. I did not see any accesibilties for wheelchairs. Entrance is 3 euros and the staff is...
