It is always a great idea to visit this wonderful place with the family, if you like walking in nature or hiking. The castle is very well preserved, with wonderful views and the café overlooking the river Rhein is worth enjoying a coffee while sitting quietly. A recommendation is to go up to the castle by train, the round trip costs 6hs and saves you an hour of climbing. The small Zoo specialising in snakes and crocodiles can also be visited,...

There are seven mountains in total, I've been only to Petersberg and Drachenfels, but these two are very good to visit. Those are the places where European fantasy tales could have been born. Those are the places where real history was born.

Siebengebirge is a perfect destination for those who`d like to see picturesque nature AND historical places at the same time. Trip there wouldn't be very hard even for those who have no experience of...

Good for long hiking tours or short strolls with the dog. Several possibilities to eat on the way. Beautiful views over the Rhine from the prominent heights. Variety of forest areas, with nature and commercial parts. Better are the beech and mixed forest areas. The bark beetle has destroyed large areas of spruce tree plantations that will need reconversion into a more...

The hike to the castle is ok, I'd recommend it. The castle itself is very well preserved and it is definitely worth visiting. The views are amazing. There's also a cafe/restaurant inside with a nice terrace, where you can enjoy a beer with a view of the Rhine. I thought the funicular was too expensive, especially since the hike up there is easily done.
