Prince Eberhard built this lake palace for his fiancé and it became the new centre of life and creativity. The lake palace was known as the favourite place where the Herzog retreated for hunting and cultural merry making. Monrepos is a lakeside castle in Ludwigsburg, Germany. Although quite distant and almost separated from the Favourite Palace and Ludwigsburg Palace, it is connected to the rest of the park via pedestrian paths.
