Beautiful palace that you can visit in a guided tour. The interior does still have lots of original furniture / decoration / textile / paneling, including a small portion of the original wood floor with ebony/ivory inlays. The guided tour is about 50 minutes long and leads you through a handful of beautiful rooms and gives explanations not just about the rooms themselves and what they've been used for but also some historical context about the construction and the duke who had this palace built.

Our guided tour was in German language only and there are no signs or textual explanations in other languages that we've seen, so please keep that in mind. After the end of the guided tour, our guide did explain a few things in English though.

Parking was easy, there are a few parking lots and we were able to use free street parking.

Inside, there is a locker room to store your bags (which have to be stored before going into the palace rooms). There are also public toilets in a different building opposite the square that were generally clean but not well stocked (no soap).

Overall, I can absolutely recommend a visit here. The price/value ratio is very fair and some of the interiors...

Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart is a stunning location for portrait photography, offering a blend of historical charm and scenic beauty. The palace’s architecture, with its classical columns, intricate details, and pristine white façade, provides an elegant backdrop that enhances any portrait style, from modern to vintage. Inside, the grand halls with high ceilings, chandeliers, and lavish interiors offer a refined atmosphere for formal or artistic portraits, while the play of light through large windows creates dramatic shadows and soft, natural lighting ideal for capturing expression and depth.

Outside, the grounds are equally captivating. The symmetrical courtyards, expansive gardens, and the views stretching across Stuttgart provide versatile settings, perfect for both close-ups and wide, scenic shots. The changing seasons also add variety; in autumn, the foliage adds warmth and texture, while snow in winter turns the scene into a serene wonderland. Schloss Solitude is an inspiring location that invites creative compositions, making it a favorite spot for portrait photographers seeking an elegant,...

Schloss Solitude is a stunning Rococo palace with breathtaking views over Stuttgart. The architecture is elegant, and the surrounding nature makes it a perfect escape from the city's hustle and bustle. Whether you're here for a picnic, a walk through the forest, or simply to admire the sunset, the atmosphere is always serene.

The viewing platform offers fantastic panoramic views, and the walking trails around the palace make it a great spot for leisure activities. While the palace interior is only accessible via guided tours, the exterior alone is worth the visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with...
