I'd give 5 stars for the sea experience... probably the warmest water on this trip!!! Calm, and very safe. The beach is a stoney beach, so beach shoes is a must. Deck chairs with an umbrella were available but overpriced at £12 per pair. At the time of this visit, better quality sun beds are available at Kyriaki beach very close by at £10Euros per pair. The biggest disappointment was the taverna overlooking the beach. I'd review the food if I could, but we weren't served after well over 40 minutes. Sadly, we weren't even given a menu to look at. I'd like to think that this was just a bad day for the taverna, but it's not a big establishment. It really did just feel like we were invisible; nobody spoke with us, and interaction was minimal. There were at least three other parties that gave up and left before we did for much the same reason.
We've been coming to Kefalonia for many years now, but this was the first and only time in ten years or so where we didn't feel welcome or wanted.
So the experience with the taverna brings the rating down.
There is reasonable space for parking, and there are toilets in the parking area that are clean and well kept.
The road down to the beach from Zola is not for the faint-hearted!! Rather narrow and steep in places.... fortunately for us, we met no cars coming in our direction on arrival or departure.
I'd return for the beach and sea.... very picturesque spot. However, the experience we had with the taverna means that I can't recommend it overall, and will probably stick to other beaches where we are always made to...

Access: The road down is very difficult, especially with a larger car.
Facilities: 3 rows of sunbeds & umbrellas for €15, go early if you want to find available ones.
Bees: So many that I’d call it “Bee Beach.” It makes you wanna go away earlier than you planned. The restaurant was assaulted by them, I personally skipped lunch. If you’re scared and/or allergic, definitely avoid this place.
Water quality: The restaurant appears to drain dishwater directly into the sea, which explains the foam — shocking.
Restaurant: Family-run but overpriced, poor quality, long waits, and rude/couldnt care less service. A child was clearing plates, orders taken by his brother after at least 20 minutes, and food takes 30–40 minutes no matter what you order (as my companions experienced)
View: From above, the beach looks beautiful, but that’s the only highlight in my opinion.
There are many much nicer beaches around. Personally, I wouldn’t return. Maybe worth a quick stop in the early morning, but...
