Kastri Beach — Attraction in Macedonia and Thrace

One of my all times favorite beach. Crystal clear water. Free parking and plenty of space on the beach and the water to enjoy yourself without being crowded. Hardly any waves, decent sand that does not stick to your skin. Do not get confused because on one side this beach is called Agias Ioannis but it is also Kastri beach on the other side. There is a restaurant called Riviera at the center of the beach that is expensive. There is a little wagon on the end of the beach called Kantina selling fast food like hot dogs and french fries. It is affordable although no prices are mentioned on the menu. You can rent a variety of rides at the beach. You can snorkel and dive and enjoy the little fish swimming in the shallow water. Beautiful beach, very quiet, sort of secluded, shallow water perfect for kids and non-swimmers. It isn't usually crowded, so it might be ideal for introverts.

Visitors should take better care of the olive grove above it, though. I buy bin bags and remove all the garbage once a year, and this year I even made and installed a board asking people to take better care of the beautiful nature, but to no avail – people are still...

Beach is not crowded during the season even if it's Saturday. Sand is ok. There isn't any bar which is perfect for your own beach setup. Approach with the car is close to the beach, so you can easily pick up your stuff. We'll see how long this is going to be "calmer" beach. There are few shades under the trees, but be aware that you are going to be "attacked" by other people who are in the mood to take...
