Excellent museum, I highly recommend a visit. The exhibits are creatively displayed, the information is just enough detail and everything is clearly organised. I have visited many museums in Greece over the last 40 years. This was the first time I could clearly understand the history of different populations who brought different cultures to the local area during different time periods. This was demonstrated through displays of their different types of work, religions, food, gender roles and my favourite was pottery. Read moreA unique and beautiful museum. It explores the region’s history from 313 aD -beginning of eastern Roman Empire- and the rebirth of a Greek state in 1821. So, artifacts from all the different cultures that influenced the area are shown, in a progressive chronological sequence, with interesting and clear explanations.
