Palionnisos — Attraction in Municipality of Kalymnos

It was great for a day at the beach with the family especially when you are just there boating but there wasn't much shade unless you wanted to sit at one of the restaurants. The toilets were clean but the showers at the back were not working. Staff at the main restaurant behind the beach weren't particularly friendly and music was too loud. It got too crowded around 2-3pm which was surprising to me since the beach itself is very far from the mainland. Would I visit again? Probably not. The bay is safe for boats ,moorings in white and orange color deviding the bay surrounded by high hill. the white moorings belongs to Kalidonis taverna . it is free but you are kindly asked to come to the taverna. Located on the hillside, is a bit difficult to climb to reach . Not for elderly or disabled.Food is like anywhereelse in the islands.Goat is served. Lovely place, definitely worth a visit if you're visiting Kalymnos. Peak season can see the beach becoming quite busy (still off the beaten track but due to its size...) but the waters are crystal clear and the views are fantastic. Taverns and a cafe offer the necessary amenities and the drive there is very memorable. Do stop at the top of the hill before starting the drive down to the beach.
