We had a wine tour and tasting around 16.30 We arrived perfectly on time and were impressed with the nice vineyard and scenery. We received a nice welcome. We got into our first wine and received the tour with otter guests (quite alot people) the tour was very rushed and there was nothing personal. It was just about how wine is made and bottling proces. I think the majority knows this. We wanted to know about the soil about the vineyard itself , the passion, the taste , the climate and why klados winery is special. And that was missing. The wines were okay, however We were also rushed because i kept hearing the staff say " We close at six" even when new guests arrived at 5.30 another table ordered 2 bottles for drinking, you cant expect them to drink it in half and hour... We didnt receive any information about prices, sending,... i think because it was nearing 6 o clock they wanted to get it over with.
We were overall abit dissapointed because We visit a winery in every country We go to on vacation... and this one seemed to be...

Eleni looked after us, is delightful and an oenology student. She's very engaging and explained the wines, their tastes and the food pairings to us. She speaks perfect English.
We choose the 8 wine tasting (€17) comprising, 5 whites, one rosé and two reds.
The wine came with Cretan rusks (like brown bread croutons) with tomato salsa. We also enjoyed the (small) cheese selection (€14.50 more than enough for 4 people; the feta is particularly good).
It's a small, family-owned winery. Eleni gave us the tour, explaining the process from vine to bottle. Well worth the visit. Our hotel arranged a car for us (€120) from Rethymno.
Make a reservation even if only on the...

I must say though that this is the first winery / brewery style tour I’ve been on where they are very stingy with what they give you.
You get to try 5 wines with each our being around 50ml. Normally you’d expect the winery’s wine to be flowing with bottles on your table to try as much as you like.
The full package consists of a plate of cheese with some bread (which by the way you get the same amount of cheese if there’s 2 of you or 8 of you).
So don’t coke here (like we foolishly did) expecting it to be a boozy lunch type affair. It’s a brief formal tasting of 5 tiny...
