A Truly Unforgettable Encounter at Reptisland!

Our visit to the Reptisland was an absolute highlight, offering a unique and incredibly engaging experience that far exceeded our expectations. This isn't just a place to observe reptiles from behind glass; it's an extraordinary opportunity for genuine, hands-on interaction, all thanks to the passion and expertise of the owner, Stelios.

From the moment we arrived, Stelios greeted us with an infectious enthusiasm and warmth that immediately set the tone for an incredible visit. He's not just an owner; he's a true legend whose dedication to his animals and his visitors shines through in every interaction. His approach is incredibly personal and educational, making everyone feel comfortable and excited to learn.

The real magic of the Reptisland lies in the unparalleled chance to fully interact with a variety of snakes and lizards. Stelios carefully guided us through the process, ensuring both our safety and the well-being of the animals. We had the incredible privilege of holding several snakes, feeling their smooth scales and gentle movements, and getting up close with various lizards. Stelios patiently answered every question, sharing fascinating facts about each creature's habitat, diet, and unique characteristics. His deep knowledge and genuine love for these animals are truly inspiring.

Stelios's attitude is what truly elevates this experience. He's patient, humorous, and incredibly skilled at making even the most hesitant visitors feel at ease. He encourages curiosity and fosters a sense of wonder, transforming what could be a simple viewing into an immersive educational adventure. He ensures that every visitor, regardless of age or prior experience with reptiles, leaves with a newfound appreciation and understanding of these often-misunderstood creatures.

In summary, the Reptisland is a must-visit for anyone and everyone. It's an exceptional place where you can safely and respectfully interact with amazing reptiles, guided by the truly legendary Stelios. His passion, knowledge, and welcoming demeanour make this an unforgettable and highly...

What a great place! I was a little apprehensive of visiting as I wouldn't say this would usually be my choice of somewhere to visit (and the thought of holding a snake or other reptiles), the same for the others in my group. But we decided to visit whilst visiting the honey museum, olive oil factory and melidoni cave all in the same day. We were so glad we did, greeted by the (surprisingly fast) tortoise that roams about the place, and then by the very friendly owners. The man in particular took our payment and then our group around the place, straight away showing us a small gecko and handing over to us. This was followed by various snakes and lastly a chameleon. He would only hand each one to you if you felt comfortable and you never felt pressured; you could tell just how passionate he is about all of the animals their and gave lots of information on them and how to handle, putting you at ease. After handing each one over he would walk off and leave you with them 😅 (whilst he spoke to other visitors) which was strange at first, but was actually another element that put you at ease as you felt very welcomed and trusted too. I never thought I would ever hold a snake, but ended up holding 3 (including 1 round the neck), the small gecko and the chameleon. A fantastic experience for all, and a must visit if you're nearby. Even if you've got any reservations, just go, you'll have...

If you're after a zoo, this isn't it! The owner warned us before we paid, he doesn't have any Tigers! But if you're interested in reptiles, then this place is amazing - I've never been to anywhere else like it. It's a small place, but with a wide selection of amazing creatures. The owner is a lovely chap, passionate about rescuing and looking after reptiles and spent time with us telling us all about them. We all held a few beautiful snakes, a lizard, a small gheko and a chameleon. I've never really appreciated what these reptiles are like before, as I've only seen than behind glass - and they are really cool! My son adored spending time holding the python and milk snake and we all left with a real appreciation of them. 5eu to spend an hour and get to know these creatures was a highlight of our holiday. Easy parking on the road outside. Afterwards we popped down the road to the cave to cool off (4eu) and have a smoothie with a view. Great day...

This is a place where all kids before they develop any prejudice towards animals, or reptiles, should visit. Stelios, your host, speaks fluent English and knows sooo much about reptiles and gladly answers any of your questions. It's not too big of a space but you'd be surprised how many different reptiles there are, yet not crammed. You get to have gekkos, pythons and chameleons on your hands. And the tortoise then, lovely young tortoise - roaming freely by visitors' feet, just like a curious small dog, constantly here and there, occasionally walking over your feet. Such a lovely place and I was so happy to see many parents with kids there having snakes in their hands. Surely those kids won't be afraid of snakes in their grown-up life. It is a half an hour drive from Rethymnon and well worth the time and effort. 5€ entrance/adult. Stelios’ love for the animals shows in everything he does. Strongly recommend.
