Dili-Dili — Restaurant in Municipality of Milopotamos

The food at Dili Dili is fantastic... reasonably priced, mixture of classic gyros and kebab/cafe food, as well as traditional Greek family dishes like spinach pie and moussaka, which can be made to order 48 hours in advance. But the real attraction is Giannis, the owner. This (amateur) comedian is the life and soul of the place. Not only is he hilarious, he speaks flawless English (plus other languages) and is extremely generous, bringing extra drinks and appetisers and refusing extra payment! In addition, Giannis will make anything off the menu if you give him a couple days notice... his mum pitches in to help with special dishes! He is also a whiz with food intolerances which was much appreciated! Highly recommend, we ended up hanging out with Giannis most evenings of our stay, great company...

Millions big thumb for Dili-Dili! We visited there twice and even celebrated our birthday there with full of humor and such down to earth owner Giannis! Perfect Deli food ! Apaki, country sausage are a must to order. Homemade and charcoal grill with own herbs and spices! We also pre ordered moussaka and baklava. Tasted so authentic and simply blew our minds! We even got chance to spend some precious times drinking and chatting with Giannis. It definitely lighted up our whole evening and the journey in Crete ! Hope to see you...

I stayed for 1 month in Melidoni between July and August with a group of friends and Dili-Dili became our 'local'. The place is simply amazing. Fantastic food, great atmosphere but the best thing about Dili-Dili is Giannis, the owner. Over 1 month he became a friend, he knows EVERYTHING about Crete and the local area, is absolutely hilarious and super helpful.
