My partner booked the scuba diving experience with GoDive Mykonos for my surprise birthday present back in August 2019. We were picked up from our hotel which was included in the package. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were briefed by a lovely instructor whose name I have forgotten (sorry!), she was very informative and assured me there was nothing to panic/be scared about and that I'll be fine. They provide you with equipment and everything you need for the dive. My partner already has the open water certification but it was my first time scuba diving.
The first dive was basically a beginners dive and you go from the shore. Luckily for me, noone else turned up for that session, so I had a one-to-one with the instructor and got all the attention and help I needed to get use to the gears and remembering to breathe through my mouth.
After we got back out, we had a quick short break. Then we were off again, this time on the speed boat to a different location for our second dive. This dive we descended to a max of approx. 20m. Both dives lasted around 45mins.
There wasn't really much to see in both dives which was the only disappointment. However, we did manage to see and follow a Mediterranean Barracuda. I believe they have different dives for different experenced divers though, so there could be more to see depending on which dive and how deep you go of course. Regardless, still an enjoyable experience for my partner and I, considering it's my first time scuba diving.
The instructor takes pictures for you aswell so that's one less thing to worry about! These were sent to us within 2 days via a link through email which we were able to download.
Thank you to everyone at GoDive Mykonos! Especially to our instructor who guided us from beginning to end, and the lovely helper whose name I did not learn but helped me with my gear and walked me to and from the shore/boat as the weight of the tank was holding me down 😅. Definitely an experience and birthday I will never forget, highly recommend to all if you...

Today my wife and me were diving with GoDive. I'm a quite experienced diver (~200dives, and used to work as guide) and my wife just had her first dive after getting the certificate last year. I always bring my CMAS 1* license because I don't want to get used as a backup guide.
At the beginning the guide took care of my wife and helped her. After around 20 min my wife fell back a little and the group mixed up. So I took care of my wife for the rest of the dive, helped her with the buoyancy and not to get lost. The second dive was similar, but the mixing started earlier.
When I guide groups I always remind my participants to stay in the same order to realize any need for support. This didn't happen here.
I would only recommend to go diving with them if you are confident with your skills. I'm sure the guide would have helped more if I wouldn't have been there, but still, the responsibility shouldn't be just transferred to another guest. At least in my opinion.
The dive sites we visited were nice and for mediterranean standards quite interesting. Some nudibranches, several fish, barracudas (in the distance) and ancient pottery. The visibility was very good, even though it was very windy on the surface.
The boat is in good condition and for 140€ you get 2 dives, the equipment, guiding, the boat transfer, pictures and a bottle of water. It's pretty expensive in my opinion, but Mykonos is not a cheap island, so I don't want to...
Read moreBeing a relatively new diver, and one that was also pursuing my Advanced Open Water certification, I was nervous about choosing a dive shop in Mykonos. I have to say that I really lucked out.
My instructor for the Advanced Open Water certification, Alexandria, was a beacon of patience, skill, and good humor. Working with her was not only educational but an absolute delight. Every moment was made comfortable and memorable, with her positive energy and unwavering dedication to ensuring an amazing dive experience.
The highlight of my diving journey here was undoubtedly the wreck dive exploring the Anna II wreck. It wasn't just a dive; it was an immersion into an underwater world that left me captivated. I can confidently say it was the best dive to date that I've done worldwide.
I have traveled to numerous diving spots around the world, but GoDive Mykonos stands out in its unique blend of world-class diving experiences and heartwarming hospitality. I would literally travel to Mykonos again specifically just to be able to dive with them again.
Thank you, Kostas, Alexandria, and the entire team for the...
