Amazing Food & Hospitality at Lia Tavern – A Must-Visit in Mykonos
We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Lia Tavern, a traditional Greek tavern in Mykonos. The food was outstanding – every dish we tried was incredibly delicious. We ordered grilled calamari, a fresh green salad, grilled halloumi cheese (amazingly good!), and fish roe. Each plate was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared.
The setting is also beautiful. Lia Tavern is just about 100 meters from the beach, offering lovely views of the sea and surrounding mountains. The atmosphere is peaceful, with classic Greek-style decoration that adds to the charm.
The service was just as impressive. The staff were friendly and laid-back, and the owner himself was present, coming by our table to say hello and make sure everything was perfect – a wonderful personal touch.
We truly enjoyed every moment of our visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Greek cuisine with great views and warm hospitality. We’ll...
Read moreThis place really subverts your expectation. It’s a beautiful place where you think you’re going for some good casual food but for the prices they sell the food exceeds. For €22 the pork steak looks and tastes like it should be €40 maybe 50.The meat is perfectly cooked with a great char and the size of it is almost overwhelming. Same goes for the chicken souvlaki, the price for it matched other places and yet the portion size for it is double what we’d usually get at other places. You can also tell it’s cooked miles better. As if it couldn’t get better their dessert is heavenly. Their vanilla ice creamy was incredibly creamy and the options for toppings made it even more sublime. Service was perfect and the environment is beautiful. Right next to the beach so it’s a very easy place to relax and chill and grab an amazing lunch / dinner right after. Highly recommend and this place should get more attention. 20/10, loved the train conductor outfits...
Read moreWe came to Lia Fish Taverna with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience was just okay—nothing out of the ordinary. If you’re planning to visit, I would strongly recommend avoiding the octopus. It was extremely chewy, overpriced, and honestly nothing like what you would expect from a real Greek taverna.
What made it even more disappointing is that in traditional tavernas, customers are usually treated warmly, often offered a little ouzo or mastiha as a courtesy. Here, nothing at all. When I shared my feedback with the waiter, he didn’t seem to care—his response was simply that “maybe you’re used to eating octopus another way.” Not the type of service or hospitality you...
