A small castle on a rather weak defensive position, it served as a quick to access refuge point for the populace during piratical raids that plagued the region in the Middle Ages. This area is agriculturally rich for the standards of islands of the Aegean sea region, and the local authorities made certain to erect a suitable fort to protect the local produce and populace from pirates. There is not luch left of the ruin but its a nice open view over the area. I can see why they build a castle here. Worth the visit.
