i'm just going to list of all the things i've experienced there.
customer service: the staff was rude to us, probably drunk aswell because both of the people that were there were reeking of alcohol. i was there with other people, and they were flirting with them. i had to ask for a helmet, didn't have any hygiene masks or anything, just straight up a smelly helmet. only 3 sizes, all of the helmets were worn down. only interested in the money, the moment after we paid, they were treating us like trash
karts: i only drove one of them (luckily), but all of them looked like they were handmade, but in a bad way. luckily no power since the brakes weren't working. i had to turn around on the grass like 3 times to stop
track: the track itself is great. not the best flooring, but a great layout. there were kerbs, but they were pretty unusable since everytime i went on them i felt like the kart is going to fall apart underneath me
extra: when we arrived, there was a family there who's child was the only one who karted. apparently he crashed and flipped the kart. staff called him stupid for not using the brakes and going full speed into a corner. poor kid had to be dragged out from under the kart. he was bleeding aswell, since there were some blood drops on the floor of the waiting room. never got to talk to him, but im sure there were no brakes. even after this crash, the staff's biggest concern was not to get sued. the tire wall wasn't put back to place, didn't check the kart if it was fine or not, just pulled it back in the box and the kid was sent away with just a bandaid.
it's not even deadly, it's just straight up dissapointing. not worth the money nor the time, the staff's creepy, the kart feels like it's about to blow...
ย ย ย Read moreWhat a dayyyyy! Where the hell do we start, if danger and fun can be combined into one then get yourself to lardos go karts !!! We arrived to expect a safety briefing instead we was greeted with a can of alpha and no information about helmets or any health and safety. He resumed to lead us to the go karts and said in yorkshire terms โcrack on ladsโ. We started the race and realised all 4 karts brakes didnโt work, but was informed by the guy running it then hit the GRASSโฆ and all will be okay. 2 laps in one of the lads snapped a steering column, 3 laps in one of the lads went through a tire wall and cut his arm and leg, one of the karts run out of fuel after 5 laps, and further more 7 laps in we snapped an accelerator cable, ten laps in I advised the owner that i had a flat tyre and he replied with โitโs okay, it drivesโ! 15 laps in one of the karts lost its sidecage which was then rolled back to the pit to be removed by the owner and told to resume. Lastly, one of the other karts lost its sidecage which nearly took one of the lads teyf out, this was only in 30 minutes of go karting, all in all tho a dangerous yet thrilliing adventure, we extremely recommend you have holiday insurance, overall super fun day...
ย ย ย Read moreWhere do I start? The positives. Very good track, karts are very sturdy (easy in some to go full throttle all the way round). That's about it.
Time for the negatives. The seats don't move so if you have long legs (like me), expect red marks on your inner thighs from where the steering wheel is. Lack of safety (you CHOOSE whether to wear a helmet!). No briefing, just got put in and went. Brakes don't work unless you stand on them (normally wouldn't need them, unless someone's spun in front of you and you can't steer away, like me). Chest is very close to the steering wheel. Person looking onto the track is off smoking most of the time so if you're stuck, good luck (engine went pingand whined down to nothing for me, took a couple of minutes to get his attention to sort out something). I think that's all...?
Personally wouldn't recommend. I definitely won't...
