I decided to leave a rating/star after I read an answer from Kounaki Wine down below.
Dear Kounaki Wine chief, I guess you have problems with adequate criticism. Can't understand what are you doing in such business as wine producing /selling if you can't accept another opinions. I have never seen such rudes answers to wine buyers /customers. (He lied about service, he said that the person down below nobody will take seriously cuz he/she has only 2 reviews what in my opinion is disgusting , and wine testing will be not free anymore. Yes please, do it, and you will loose your potential customers).
Personally I was at Kounaki Wine 1 time and i bought 2 bottles of wine, special thanks to woman who told me everything about every sort of wine in small details. She did a good job. Wine was good but not the perfect one for me.
And YES, they use hands without gloves or some another stuff/spoons for preparing cheese/bread snack for customers, what is not a big problem for me.
There is a lot of another winery on the Rhodes where you can try wines for free and choose the perfect one for you so better to visit them, cuz seems like chief of this place is kind of mad and not...
Read moreI arrived in Rhodes on a Tuesday evening, booked a wine tasting on Wednesday morning for 4pm that day. I think you could just show up but perhaps in summer when busier it's best to book. Anyway, when I arrived I was greeted by 3 lovely young ladies, who sat me down with a jug of water and explained the process. After I quenched my thirst, one of the gals took me on a tour of the winery and most excellently explained the whole process from picking the grapes to bottling the wine, and all the differences between the different grapes/wines. Very knowledgeable young lady. After that, I and a few cats, were provided with the meat and cheese plater I had ordered. Cats were class. Plenty of options for all, and can all be ordered online when booking. I was then presented, one by one, with some fabulous wines to taste. The gals explained the wines extremely well, and they also provide a book to accompany. I was on my own but with a group of friends or family it would great craic (fun). I would highly recommended visiting this brilliant winery if you after some wine or just a tasting. Believe they do olive oil and honey too but I was there for...
Read moresmall and amazing winery in depth of Rhodes land. before you rich the destination you will see amazing mountains, waving roads, forests and many other things... the trip itself to the winery is priceless.
we were with kids and for them place of course a little boring, and friendly winery personal quickly find the way how attract them by local food: watermelon 🍉 and grapes 🍇 ... at that time adults has an amazing experience of tasting local wines. we try 8 different wines each with own specific taste, color, smell and texture ... dry wines, half sweet and sweet - every one can find a good match.
p.s. if you are driver in this trip try the taste only and don't drink the wine samples completely, its quite tricky in such hot weather and wines are strong 13-16%. or plan that you will stay longer in the winery.
good place to visit, all other reviews move the winery to the top place - and its a correct place for them.
p.p.s. 5 + 1 option is the best. just keep in mind that you can bring 3 bottles per person...
