In my 2 weeks in Sithonia, I've visited 10+ beaches and that's the only one I won't go again, I won't recommend.
The minus side: It is the only beach (visited by me) where you have to pay for the sunbeds and umbrella (12-15 Eur per set depending on the bar/terrace). In addition to that, you are not allowed with food/drinks from outside, they force you to buy from them, although you separately paid the set. Also, they don't have a shower. I really don't understand why they are charging so much while offering nothing.
To be clear: on all the other beaches I've been, the sunbeds and umbrella are free if you buy something from them. All the beaches have at least one taverna, which offers sunbeds, toilets and showers for free, just have to buy something from them (also not allowed with drinks/food from outside).
Example of such beaches where I've been and recommend: Agridia, Tourkolimmionas, Klimataria, Litus, Kavouroutripes, Tigania, Golden beach (here at Golden beach there is a minimum consumption of 30 eur / umbrella, but the facilities are great).
There is no shower on this beach!!
a lot of motorised boats at one end of the beach which creates discomfort when swimming, plus pollution in the water.
The water gets deep relatively quick. Not the best option for small children.
parking is near the beach and it is not small, but also not enough. On Sunday at 11:30 I didn't find a spot, I had to leave the car very far in the street.
On the plus side: clear blue water (but that's the case for ALL beaches I've seen in Sithonia). easy access with the car. On some of the other beaches you have to let the car away from the beach and/or the road is very bad. In this case the road is good and the parking is right...
Read moreI have a mixed opinion about this beach. In the morning it is nice and clean. Beautiful colors. Until noon. Afterwards it is overcrowded and the water is dirty and murky. There are a lot of people who do not live&stay there, but come with many cars from some other locations, the public parking is overbooked, both are, there is no space from 1PM. Some criminals from Romania have broken into cars in the public parking lot. There are a lot of Romanians, then fewer Bulgarians, in smaller numbers Serbs and a very few Hungarians come, mostly all are very good tourists and we met interesting people. The next beach, on the south, where the Thalatta campsite is, probably contributes to the afternoon dirtiness (nylons, plastics everywhere etc), there are a lot of people there, several thousand, like a small town and the crowd is terrible, a million cars, we had no desire to go there. On the northern part,so called Kalamitsaki, there are so many motorboats parked, decent swimming is almost impossible, very sad. Mostly, there are Greeks. As the years go by, it is less and less peaceful on the beaches...
Read moreA beautiful beach. Crystal water. The small island is very interesting - you can easily climb on it's rocks,to make pictures of unique geological formations. There are a lot of fish in the water. But still the parking is awful- you should go there very early if you want to find a spot, and there is always possibility to find your car blocked by other vehicle,or scratches. The passage from the main road to the beach is very narrow, maybe about 200 m long and you may have to go back or find a way to pass aside other cars and even trucks(it is happening to me every time when I get there). But still one of the places you should visit when you are on Sithonia. I was amazed the first time. Take a place on the right side of the beach, infront the island-the sand is...
