It is a beautiful beach that can be reached in a short 30 minutes by walking from the center of Palekastro. It is also easily accessible by car and there is a parking lot just behind the beach. This is a quieter place as Vai Beach is more popular in the area. If you are looking for calmness, you can choose this beach. I recommend that you do not expect too much. There are restaurants, changing cabins and toilets on the beach.

If you walk to the beach from Palekastro, I think you will enjoy the road surrounded by olive trees. Also on the road to the beach is Palaikastro Minoan Town. I recommend you to visit this archeological point where the wonderful Minoan statuette named Palaikastro Kouros...

Παραλία Χιώνα (Paralia Chiona, Chiona Beach) is a pristine beach lying on the East-end of Crete next to the villages of Παλαίκαστρο and Αγκαθιά.

The sand is so clean and soft on the feet and the water is crystal clear and refreshing.

All of Greece is both mythical and magical and the food, history, culture, music, and local warmth and hospitality all making for a holiday...

No chairs or umbrellas so bring your own or hang out in the shade by the few trees. Has showers and toilets. If you’re hungry there are a few taverns with good prices. More of a locals beach because of the no chairs or umbrellas but also could be better because may not be as busy or as expensive with just the...
