Ampela beach — Attraction in Municipality of Syros and Ermoupoli

Beware of anemones: they are everywhere on this beach and could be dangerous for small children (my kid got stinged).

In case you or your family member encountered anemone here’s what you have to do:

1. don’t panic - most probably it is not serious;
2. wash the stinged area with sea water;
3. scrub the area with plastic card or gloved hands to ensure there are no remains of anemone on the skin;
4. go to the nearest pharmacy and ask for Fucicort Lipid - use it on the stinged area;
5. in the pharmacy, ask for antihistamine tablets or syrup - follow the medicine’s instructions before using it;

This small beach with shallow and clear waters has only one inconvenient, its surface is covered with algae and is not pleasant to have a dip in smelly and slimy water.

There is a tavern close and also some showers and a dressing place.
