Savalas — Restaurant in Municipality of Vari - Voula - Vouliagmeni

I have been visiting Savalas now for more than a year. Their coffee, from the first time I stopped there to grab a coffee, I was pleased to note was far better than other places locally that I had previously tried. Price was good too. That day that I stopped for first time in the morning, I also called in on my return a few hours later ... and was surprised when given my coffee without stating my order. They had remembered me from earlier, and know my order even when I haven't been around for a few weeks. They are extremely popular, service is excellent, especially since as customers arrive, they recognise orders from their regulars before they arrive at the counter which makes for a swift turn around for everyone.

For those that have seen negative comments ...

It is not a "cafeteria" in the sense of waitress service and snacks. It is more for visitors heading for the beach areas just across or down the road, that want to take a drink and simple snack with them. Their are a few places to sit just outside the shop for people like myself who might want to use wifi and sit a few minutes in the shade of an umbrella (I cycle and use the facilities for taking a breather before heading on to my destination or returning back home close to Athens via the coast road to enjoy the view).

Alternately there is a small area just across the road, under some trees for customers use, or if busy you'll need to find somewhere to sit in the communal area around and beyond. The area is quite popular, not just for Savalas, so it is only to be expected that seating will be difficult to find o occasions.

The staff are friendly and helpful which I also find pleasing. Anyone who may have had an unpleasant experience here should possibly look at their own attitudes...

This is a place with an almost “legacy local institution” status. A main take out self service place to get your coffee (which is roasted in the premises!!)and other related items on your way to work, when you pass by, stop from a bike ride, or take it across the street in free self service siting area/place over the varkiza pier. Unfortunately the coffee, even at This self service approach, has become more expensive than one would expect and from a year and a half ago. Nevertheless still worthwhile...

Great coffee but they should invest in 10 euro stainles steel container. When preparing iced coffees, they put the hot coffee directly into the plastic container which is a terrible habbit.
