That is a charming, well-preserved fortified Mesinian home and tower. The complex is actually called Old Kardamuli. It is not just a tower, it is also a nice church, house, and some old service buildings. Besides the historical interest, there are also nice views from the upper floor of the tower. They even have a bathroom. The entrance fee is just 3 euro, and it is totally worth it. The last few hundred meters of the road leading to the complex are in bad shape, and there is no much parking right next to the complex. You can leave the car in the large unpaved empty space where all the restaurants end and walk for 5 minutes. The walk is actually nice. A well set out and presented site of a former castle and tower of a prominent family, with additional information about the Mani Peninsula. Best time to visit is late afternoon with the setting sun as the colours make for some great photos.
