You arrive in the morning, not later than 10am, because you know it’s Mamma Mia beach, there will be people. Pristine waters, beautiful landscape, nice deck chairs. So far 5 of 5. We were 3 persons, so we ask for additional sunbed. 5 euro per sunbed, 15 euros for all of them. Fixed charge, no consumption. Nevertheless we order frape coffee. The bill exceeds 30 euro, this is just for start. Frape comes without free water as is the standard in many other Greek beaches. Small water = 1 euro. Evaluation goes to 4 of 5 stars. In the meantime long line of cars and buses continue arriving. Two tourists cruise boats land more than 100 additional people on beach. A number of catamarans and yachts also dock in the bay. Very soon every free spot on the beach is taken by people, everyone shouting, babies crying. Now evaluation is 3 of 5. In front of us a family with two small children has taken a standard set, the father has pinned an additional umbrella in our feet. Beside us is a family of six(mother, father, 2 small kids, grandmother and grandfather) and a dog occupying one standard set. Baby crying on my ear, daughter lying on the ground, 15 cm from me. Water is no longer pristine, but muddy at the beginning from so many people and boats throwing waste in sea. Toilets at the cafe get overused. The Kastani cafe decides it is the right moment to start the DJ session from the loudspeakers. 2 out of 5. This is how people have managed to downgrade otherwise a nice beach out...
Read moreIf you're looking for a very organized beach, this is the way to go. The beach bar offers umbrellas and sunbeds both near the sea and by the grass, depending on whether you prefer more time under the sun or in the shadow. The waters are nice and clean, except for the jellyfish that's generally present around the island at this time. There's also the option for water sports and a free space (although slightly limited) for your own umbrellas away from the beach bar. As far as cons go, the staff wasn't the most welcoming we've seen and the prices could've been better. Also, people just freely set their individual umbrellas in front of the ones of the beach bar so the front row isn't always getting what...

The sea is shallow for about only 10-15 meters and the seafloor is made of pebbles ( watershoes are nice to have )
The beach is sorounded by beautiful white cliffs and pine forests.
The beachbar has sunbeds only on the middle sector of the beach, the rest remaining free for all.
There is a large parking (unorganized) available at the end of the road to Kastani. To get to the beach you take a turn from the main road (there is a clear indicator for it) and go down for about 500 m using a secondary road that is not in the best condition.
The beach has beautiful tuquoise clear waters and it's a great...
