I would not recommend that anyone stays at this hotel until the rooms have been completely refurbished. Absolutely everything needs updating. How this hotel can claim to be a 5 star resort is beyond belief.||My wife and I booked a ‘Junior Suite’ for four nights. When we arrived we were told that they had given us an upgrade to….. a ‘Junior Suite’. When we were shown the room it was quite shockingly awful – unclean and badly needing updating. We were told they were fully booked and that they had ‘no refund policy’. After a very embarrassing and stressful stand-off we were offered the ‘honeymoon suite’. ||It was late in the day and with commitments we had to accept what we were offered – having already paid the money, with no sign of them relenting on any kind of refund. ||When walking in or out of the hotel the staff on the desk didn’t make any attempt to be friendly, let alone make eye contact. It was like a ghost town.||We stayed as long as we really had to and left, giving up two nights of our booking and had to pay again for better accommodation elsewhere.||In brief summary the problems include:||Archaic furniture|Uncomfortable beds with inadequate mattress and duvet|Virtually no wall decoration – large walls with no pictures|Archaic air condition system|Scratches and stains on the wooden floors|Scratches with peeling paint on walls and ceilings|Furniture stained|Lighting not all working|TV and remote not working|Broken toilet seat|Broken shower riser rail – head holder|Broken toilet brush holder|No shower screen|No working bath plug (making the bath unusable)|Ancient hair-dryer|No hot water when needed – having to run the taps for 20 minutes to get any hot water and sometimes not at all.|Bath sealant very poor|Balcony was uncared for – peeling paint everywhere, rusty lighting, awful plastic furniture that needs replacing.|Balcony door locks unsecure|A so called ‘mini-bar’ - with a lack of any quality drinks in it|Ill fitting, worn and stained carpets throughout...
Read more10 reasons why this resort isn’t really 5 star quality. Rooms: old wooden flooring covered with marks. Not enough plug ins for anything you need. They have them all taken. If you unplug the TV and bed table lights you can have three. Bathroom: totally in safe shower that doesn’t even have a shower curtain or glass panel to stop the water from covering the entire bathroom floor. Three lights over the mirror. Shower/tub is totally in dark shadow. Again, not safe. Hallways: carpet must be 15 years old and covered in stains. My college frat house didn’t look this bad. 11 months ago there was a review here that the carpets were dirty. They still are. Especially in times of Covid, shouldn’t these be steam cleaned weekly/monthly? Buffet breakfast: eggs in steam baths cooked hard. Bacon jerky is dried. 90 percent carbs. Order a special coffee. It costs more but worth it over the standard swill. Pool area: water is milky. They allow family in from the “community” so there is no guaranteed spots for guests paying for rooms. No check to see if any of these people have been vaccinated or have tested negatively for Covid. Kids from outside of the resort bring in inflatables which take up even more space. Lots of screaming. Bring headphones to crank up your music to cover the noise. Power poles and lines on the edge of the pool deck. Lifeguard is busy on her phone so watch your children well. Pool deck is very slippery - lawsuit ready to happen. What is good? The staff tries their best to to...
Read moreThe hotel does not quite live up to 5-star standards, although it has a few positive aspects. The room was large and spacious, but poorly ventilated, with signs of dampness – which can be an issue, especially for guests with mold allergies. In the bathroom, several details required attention: the sink faucet was broken, the bathtub had no plug, the jacuzzi system was out of service, there was no shower curtain (making showers uncomfortable and slippery), and the entrance door was damaged. Additionally, the cabinet housing the fridge was swollen from moisture.||Regarding general facilities, the absence of a terrace or balcony was a drawback. The air conditioning in the hallways was not working, and there was a persistent smell of fried food from the kitchen, combined with stained carpets in the corridors, which created an unpleasant atmosphere. At night, the noise from the air conditioning compressors was disturbing.||As for the beach, I did not ask or check about its location, but the photos might give the impression that the hotel is right next to it – which is not the case.||Breakfast was generous, though not very varied. Overall, the experience felt closer to a 3-star stay rather than...
