Beloi Hike — Attraction in Zagori Municipality

Easy hike of 1 hour roundtrip from the parking spot past the village of Vradeto - just keep going until you hit that spot. Hike is quasi flat and the views are great. At this time of the year the village of Vradeto is deserted except for a super-friendly completely emaciated and somewhat rough looking black-tan Labrador type dog who seems to have spent the winter there. For many people, the Beloi hike is about the fabulous view of the Vikos Gorge at the end, but in spring the walk is worth doing slowly just for varied display of wildflowers all along this short trail. If you are a plant lover, you'll enjoy the walk as much as the view at the end. The walk is partly along a dirt track, partly cross country with minor ups and downs but nothing difficult (though it can get muddy if it rains). One of the best hikes I have ever done. Recommend parking the car at the coffee shop instead of continuing on because it gets pretty rocky for a car after that point. It only adds about 10 minutes to the walk but it is worth it. The hike had the largest variety of wild flowers I have ever seen. The view at the end is not to be missed. I don’t think it is a difficult hike. I think the hardest part was the weird stairs they made a one point with the local rocks. Really fabulous...
