Small beach with lots of rocks Not so comfortable to lay on your towel Best to wear water shoes and take your snorkeling set with you You can see a lot of marine live such as crabs and different kind of fishes by the rocks If you go a bit deeper you also see starfish and little shell crabs 1 day at this beach is enough to explore all the snorkeling points Nice beach for children There is shadow under the trees and enough places to eat and drink
We also rented a private boat to visit the Keri caves and spot some turtles We did spot a big turtle while he was swimming under water but there where so many boats around him that he swim away The route to Keri Caves was very beautiful with blue / turquoise waters and peddle beaches Great to swim in crystal clear water We went to the myzithres point (furthest point we could go with the private boat) It was so beautiful The water was very blue but there are a lot of boats An very unfriendly lifeguard who only picked on is so we left much quicker then we would have like to That made the whole trip unpleasant for us My tip: don't rent a private boat just go with a skipper They know the good spots and you don't need to stress where to park the boat and get an angry lifeguard who probably...
Read moreThe sea was a fantastic temperature and although fairly stoney and uncomfortable, the beach was reasonable enough and more than made up for by how nice the sea was. Once you get in past a metre or so the sea is sandy bottomed with a few scattered rocks and is great to relax in, being pretty still the majority of our stay. The wind sometimes is quite strong but this doesn't really result in waves, and is mostly off the sea, so just keeps you nice and cool when out of the water. The atmosphere in Keri is nice and chilled and most of the restaurants are pretty decent, although not as good as those in Zante town. The kebab store is also pretty banging and only costs €2.50 for a decent kebab - but make sure you get the pitta, not just the €2 souvlaki stick, it's a much better meal for 50 cents more. Would definitely recommend for a chilled holiday, but if you fancy a sesh Laganas is only €20ish in a taxi away - although expect the Inbetweeners Movie. Zante town is a couple Euros more, and is a little more middle class - great for a quiet cocktail and a posh (ish) meal while remaining relatively cheap. Madisons restaurant there does awesome good for €15ish for a main and the bar Base does some great cocktails...
Read moreNice little beach, but a bit pebbly in parts. Shade from the trees is useful, even if grubs fall off them at this time of year (early July). Can rent beds and umbrellas (2 beds €10 per day) which are ok. Easy access to a little shop about half way down the beach, but also very easy to get to the main strip of cafes and tavernas in Keri. The sea is quite shallow for a good way out, so safe enough for kids, with very clear and clean water, and there are some decent snorkelling spots around the edges of the bay. There are small fish quite close to the beach, and larger ones further out, as well as crabs, octopus, and other creatures. You do need to spend a bit of time searching though. There are some bad smells from different sources, the oddest probably being the odd whiff of pitch that comes from the old pitch wells (what the place was famous for back in the day). This is a very small port as well with lots of boats taking people out on turtle watching trips and the like. It thought that might bother me, but in the two weeks we stayed here it was fine. The boats keep well away from the swimming areas, and it's not too noisy. The beach can get busy, especially at weekends, but it was never an...
