Porto Limnionas Beach is a breathtaking hidden gem on Zakynthos’ west coast, offering a unique and unforgettable experience. This isn’t a typical beach but a stunning fjord-like cove with crystal-clear, emerald waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling. I was blown away by the vibrant marine life and the dramatic rocky cliffs surrounding the cove, which made every swim feel like an adventure. The water was noticeably colder compared to other beaches on the island, adding a refreshing thrill, especially on hot days. There are plenty of spots for jumping into the deep, invigorating waters, with rocky ledges and platforms that make it a paradise for thrill-seekers.
A few tips: the descent to the water is via steps, so wear sturdy shoes and watch your step, especially with kids. Ignore any pushy parking attendants trying to charge for free spots—park closer to the taverna instead, where you can often get free parking with a meal or drink. The nearby taverna offers sunbeds for a small fee (around €5-6 for a set with an umbrella) and serves delicious food with amazing views—perfect for a post-swim meal. Arrive early to snag a sunbed and enjoy the tranquil vibe before it gets busy. The sunset here is pure magic, making Porto Limnionas a must-visit for nature lovers and those seeking a...
Read moreOne of the, if not the best beach in the whole island. Incredible for: Snorkeling (although there aren't many fish); Swimming, as there are many places one can settle on the rocks or in some places the sand, so very convenient, and there are a few caves everyone can explore; Sunbathing, since there's practically little to no shade, so hats are recommended; It's also the best spot for cliff jumping. There are platforms and cliffs at 1m height, ~3m height and for extremists there is a cliff on the opposite side of the water one can climb upon and jump from up to 6-7 meters. Finally, up top, near the parking there is a great tavern for meals and drinks, which also has sunbeds for rent.
I'd recommend coming here as early as possible, at least by 8am, as in a few hours this place gets super crowded, especially on the weekends, because even the locals come to spend the day here. This is also helpful because you won't have to park your car a kilometer away from the beach by the road and walk...
Read moreThis place is not a beach it’s a rocky cove and it’s listed in the top 5 of the islands beaches , it’s bloody amazing we been twice in our visit to the island , it’s a good scenic drive plenty of parking and toilets food and drink available , outside seating area at the top with great views of the cove along with sunloungers , getting down to the water is via some steep steps or concrete ramp , I would not say it’s dangerous but do wear trainers for walking . We were in a party of 16 and there were children with us and other children swimming in the cove happily ( every parent has a different threshold of what they want children to do ) , the water does drop deep quite quickly in places but it’s a fantastic place for swimming snorkelling and exploring in the caves , don’t miss out give it a try you’ll be dissatisfied if you don’t , I would say definitely leave grandma and...
