We luckily had an afternoon to spare before leaving Flores, and came here on a recommendation from a local at Los Amigos. I'm so happy we did! It was a great place to spend a relaxing afternoon at the end of the dock, where would could easily jump off and swim. The water here is much cleaner than other swimming areas closer to Flores. From the main water taxi area in Flores, we negotiated a Q5 price per person (we were in a group of 4) to cross over the San Miguel. Then we hiked the rest of the way. There is a really cool lookout/treehouse to climb that gives Spectacular views of the whole area.

Read more10Q to be here for the day, the dock and tables are underwater now, like most of the areas around the island of Flores and surrounding areas. Still a great place to hangout for the day, lots of tables and they have a shack that has snacks and drinks but not many options, so plan accordingly. You can also take a boat here for 10Q from the island of Flores, they may try to have you pay more but the price should be 10Q. I would definitely recommend this place for a day on the water, it is also rocky...
Read morePerhaps the most beautiful part of the lake! You can approach it either on foot from San Miguel or you can combine it with Mirador de Canek. Boths sites are connected. The entrance to the beach costs only 10q per person and the site is kept really clean with lots of seating options. There is also a bar on site that offers cold drinks. The water on this side is really clear and the platform makes it the ideal place for diving! Come early and avoid weekends so you can have the whole place...
