Unfortunately couldn't actually get here because of a mix up with the boat ride prices to cross here from the island of flores

I was told at my accomodation that the price was 2Q to get accross in a local boat. Them when we got to the wharf one of the guys says is 125Q!!!!!!! for them to take us there, wait till we go up to the mirador and go back to flores... I was born in Spain so obviously there wasn't a language barrier or nothing like that.. then he says 2Q is only for local villagers.. maybe I can charge you 25Q amd blames the hotel for the misinformation and tells me to report those practices to the INGUAT...

Got to other guys that seemed less dodgy amd eventually got the price down to 5Q... As we were short on local cash being our last day in guatemala heading tomorrow to belize I ruled out travelling with any of those ferrymen even for 5Q as they are untrustworthy and greedy

In the end I think the hotel was right and price used to be 2Q for everybody... they are just trying to squeeze quetzales out of the...

This was a cute short excursion from Flores! Take a lancha to San Marcos for Q10 each way, takes maybe 5 minutes. Then walk up for about 20 minutes, boat driver and locals helped me with directions. Super simple to get to! The mirador is some steps, takes a few minutes to climb. And then at the top there's a colorful platform painted with Guatemalan jungle animals and temples. You leave your shoes at the bottom, so wear socks to protect your feet if you want. Loved the views! Got to see many birds, boats, and an airplane landing. Took me maybe 2 hours total from...

The best to look out in all of Flores! This amazing viewpoint is located in a remote and serene part of San Miguel, and it only takes a short 15 minute walk from the lake shore to get here. This is a wonderful spot to watch the sunrise or sunset, or just to get an amazing view of Flores Island. Make sure to bring your camera to take lots of photos, and if you are lucky, you will get to hear the sounds of the incredible howler monkeys. This Mirador is a must visit if you are coming to Flores. There are several steps, but get in here should be easy for people...

This is a great short side trip from Isla de Flores if you can spare an hour. We caught a lancha from the island to San Miguel for 15Q pp and then walked about 15 minutes to the mirador, which is free to access. However, if you take a lancha to Tayazal instead, the walk is shorter and more direct, however the lancha will cost 25Q pp (that’s what we paid to go back to the island from Tayazal). The view from the mirador is great, nearly 360 degrees, but you do need to remove your shoes before walking up the couple flights of wooden stairs to the viewing platform.
