The beautiful St Tugual's Chapel, built by Norman monks on the island of Herm, dates back to the 11th century. When the wonderful Peter and Jenny Wood (who are buried in the Chapel garden) took over the lease of the island in 1949 they put in a lot of effort and money in its restoration. One of the lovely stained glass windows features a pair of Guernsey cows boarding Noah's Ark, another shows Jesus talking to local fishermen with Herm in the background.

If you go to Guernsey, you should really go on the little ferry across to Herm and have a walk round. This little chapel is lovely and harks back to the past, when only a few people lived on the island. There is also a little tower behind it. It’s a lovely walk if the weather is good and the views from a bit further up are lovely. The chapel itself is cute and quaint, certainly worth a visit.

Excellent restored church which dates from the 9th century. Now it's one of the most popular attractions at Herm Island. Small church and tiny garden with a little graveyard. so beautiful to visit
