Raked every morning by a municipal work crew. Shallow protected area ideal for families.

Quietest during the week. Sunday's are very busy with locals and tourists.

Several restaurants located on the entrance road. Edo's offers seafood platters, burgers, soups, and fancy beach cocktails. Baleada Hut. Coconuts opens early serving tipico local honduran food and drinks. Carlotta's has cold beers and tacos.

Keep your eye open for the ice-cream man, L.10 a cone.

Evenings and weekends can be a bit noisy, as sometimes locals bring their own competing speakers, playing loud music.

Cool spot to take photos for sure. But, the sand is actually mostly shells, not very nice on the feet, and it gets worse when you walk out in the water. Tables weren't out in the water when we went. Maybe it was too early in the season (late February).

I feel like this gets high reviews because it's free and great for pictures. But in reality there's glass and trash in the water, shells in the sand, and the fish bite. Nicest beach is actually East of Central. Bando Beach is only $2 US and is fantastic in all regards,...

They've done a great job redoing this beach. The water breaks make the water calm and easy to swim in, a great place for families. There are plenty of trees dispersed for shade, with lots of open sand, and lots of area to hang out. There are picnic tables and benches. They regularly rake and clean the beach, so the sand flies aren't that bad. There are several bars and restaurants around the beach to grab a bite or drink.
