The Mango Tango has the most delicious food ever! We have been to Utila a few times now, for extended lengths of stay and no matter what we do, or where we eat, we always include the Mango Tango on our itinerary for at least one meal. Before we arrived this February, 2018 we had heard that the Mango Tango had moved locations. We were honestly a little bummed out as it had a beautiful venue that was on the water about 3 floors up, so the views were amazing. But to our surprise the new location is even more superb and they have done a really excellent job with decorating. They moved in right beside the old Rehab Restaurant down by Chepes Beach.

We both had the lobster ravioli which is so rich and creamy. It seems to be our go-to meal each time we eat there. We also have the shrimp appetizer which was decadent and surprisingly filling along with the deep fried won tons. To be honest we weren’t fans of the won ton as they were quite dry and just didn’t have a lot of taste. Our recommendation would be just to nix that from the menu and stick to the more tasty platters that are offered.

Now the prices at the Mango Tango are a little higher than one might pay at other places in Utila but the food is beyond compare. The only thing I probably wouldn’t pay for again there is wine because at $5 a glass on Utila I can buy a whole bottle! And as a fairly conservative, well cheap drinker I don’t like to pay that much per glass.

Our server at the Mango Tango Restaurant was excellent. He had the right amount of checking in with us without smothering us, going on, which was really appreciated. Plus, he was just really pleasant and nice to talk to.

All and all the Mango Tango Inn is a delicious venue to eat at and makes for a really great date night out! Not too mention that the sunsets on the patio are breathtaking. This establishment is just one of those things that makes Utila so special. This restaurant deserves 5 stars from...

If you’re going, ask for Eddie. He’s FABULOUS. The view is great, the service was awesome, and we had fun jumping off of the dock while waiting for our food. The mojito‘s were sooo good (especially the passion fruit). Eddie brought ice water for our dogs without being prompted. The whole experience was really special. My boyfriend and I are vegan, so they adjusted the sweet potato ravioli for us. Additionally, given the circumstances of the invasiveness of the lion fish, we decided that we would try the fish for our first time ever… I’ve been hesitant for months, but after a lot of research and watching them being hunted during every scuba dive, we decided that today would be the day. Everything was really delicious and we left feeling so full that we could barely walk back to the beach. While the menu doesn’t appear to appeal to vegans, they have hummus, salads (delicious), french fries, baked potatoes, etc. Definitely give this place a try for their...

So glad we dropped in. We were looking for a place to enjoy an evening meal. Decided to give the mango a try.

Upon arrival, we were asked if we had a rez. Sorry no. Debated on whether to stay or not. They offered 2 seats at the bar and a possible open table later. We accepted.

The bar staff were awesome. We kibitzed and joked when the server told us that a table opened up outside next to the water. SOLD.

The menu items are appealing, and those we picked were delicious. The wine selection is equally good. The quality and amount of food are very good. Well worth the wait at the bar.

Yes, you should go. Not just for the food but the great service from a fun and friendly staff.

UPDATE: Had such a good time we decided to go again for our last night in utila. This time, we made reservations. Like our first encounter, we were impressed with all facets of the tango. Service, atmosphere and the food were all top shelf. Soooo glad...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mango Tango steals my heart—one sunset meal at a time. The view over the water is stunning enough to make you forget the world. Having dinner and cocktails just as the sky blushes pink is a subtle kind of perfection. Monica, the owner, runs the show with a grace that’s matched only by her sister’s knack for pitching in, and the staff’s genuine warmth. For an island joint, it’s got a surprising polish—classy without trying too hard. The food? Let’s just say it’s the best kind of surprise, consistently delicious in an unassuming way. After a tropical storm knocked it down for three months, Mango Tango’s return feels like triumph. I’m glad it’s back—better, somehow, and still wonderfully itself.

Great place with amazing view, specially if you’re seated on the deck. You will have the wind and their nice lamps to make up for a great ambiance, whether it for a romantic dinner or a food time with friends. The food is great, tasty and good portions but it is on the pricey side. They have some seasonal dishes and their menu, both offer great variety and diversity. Their service is nice, although it can be a bit slow and sometimes you are not able to call your waitress, they are not always paying attention to the guests needs because there’s a big crowd. Make sure to make a reservation since they are always booked. I do recommend this place and will continue to come back.
