We reserved the King Kong Intense Zip Line with Monkey and Sloth experience through our cruise ship. It was advertised as a 2.5 hour excursion. When we got there they had us sign waivers and then started getting people geared up. As we were doing that another bus load of people showed up. We finally got geared up and then had to wait for a truck for quite a while. Once we got to the top we kept having to wait for guides to catch up to go from platform to platform. Our group of 25 turned into like a group of 60-70 plus. We would sometimes wait 20 min in order to move to the next zip line. We started our tour at 10 due to the number of people to guide ratio we did not finish until almost 1. We had monkey and sloths experience with our tour so that added another 40 min but was honestly the best part of the day. The guides were outstanding. Poncho and Charlie and all of the guys were great. We felt safe and well instructed. The entire experience was just made less enjoyable because of the extensive wait at each platform in the almost 90 weather. What should have been 1.5 hours was 3. They just way overbooked and couldn’t handle that volume without ruining the experience. To top it all off when we were inline for the tour we were approached about pictures and sold a great deal on a package that guaranteed us 4-6 pictures. They showed us a family picture of everybody in their gear and then pictures of individuals zip lining. Seemed like a great deal for $40 so we did it. They literally took 1 picture of each of us on 1 zip line in which the kids were heading in backwards because of the way they had them hold on. They didn’t take a group picture and no other pictures were taken. We still haven’t gotten the email with the pictures and don’t know if we ever will. If you know your tour group is smaller I would recommend the tour as the guys do really do a good job. The Monkey, cheeky is super fun and the sloth was cute BUT DO NOT FALL for the...
Read moreWent to King Kong zip line last July with my daughter. I booked the excursion through our cruise line Royal Caribbean. The experience was amazing and we had so much fun. It was both of our first time zip lining. Everyone in the park was amazing. Our 3 guides were phenomenal and you can tell they love what they do. Shadow was our main guide and he was absolutely amazing. We had a nice conversation about the island and the locals, he and the 2 others definitely made the experience. I’d say If you can request a guide request Shadow! After zip lining we were taken to the very top of the hill where we had the most delicious authentic Honduran cuisine, the family owned restaurant had such a warm and welcoming feel on top of the delicious food, and the breathtaking views of the island. An amazing trip. Unfortunately, the photos that I paid for to commemorate my daughter’s and my experience was a waste of money. Almost a year later, I’ve tried several times to reach out to the company and I still haven’t heard anything from them. I reached out to RC and they reached out to the zip line company with no response. I won’t go as far to say they scammed me but it’s just poor taste and practice to not respond to a customer who sends an email with a complaint and to not send the pictures that the customer paid for.
Aside from the pictures I would definitely book another excursion with them if I ever return to the island, I just won’t purchase the photo package. I gave 5 stars because of Shadow and the...
Read moreThe prices are a scam - food was old , and service was slow- prices where extremely high and food quality low. walk way up to resturant is 30 step to a great view ill give them that. a chicken leg stew plate $15 - rice was at least 2 day old - the plantain was fresh and prepared on the spot dont request payment with credit card- they have a $15 dollar fee additional to your order total. the waiter left our plates on the table through duration of our stay and picked them up unitl we left. When we arrived we where asked for something to drink but never shown the menu until we requested it. 5 one tv screen and 0 enternainment or at least a smiling waiter. beer was $3 which is not a bad price for the island 7.for their outragous prices one would expect the food to be frech or at least have a decent presentation - or add ons, like a free locally made desert or a fresh avocado salad. Vegetables are cheap on the island. 8 Presentation- they dont even pretend to decorate to justify price. my advise is if you really want to try island food at a decent price ask your tour guide point the way to Bay Side - they also have a affortable buffet menu which is 10 times better in taste and price. We as tourist should not be dragged to the place that offers the most commission to the tour guide but make sure the get the best deal for their buck and walk away with a smile and a good experience.
