Hotel Las Puertas de Tepoztlan — Attraction in Morelos

Only the pro and cons - you decide folks.||PROS:|GREAT STAFF- each person was FANTASTIC! ( we wrote a LONG 2 page comment card and gave it to the manager Ez, we also mentioned names in that form -so everyone got due credit!) ||Perfect location -only 1 block from the main street! ( shopping / restaurants/ bars etc) ||This hotel is only 4 months old - we believe its the newest hotel in town. |Very modern and comfortable! We would recommend to friends and family! ||It features a comfy patio, pool, roof top restaurant, hot tub, giant suites, large bath room, and a small spa.||The food at breakfast, lunch and dinner was ALL AMAZING!!! MY fav is the fresh juice in the morning- the chef Phillipe is fantastic- he let me in the kitchen to make jam one day- very nice people! My fav sih for dinner at the roof top restaurant was the shrimp! AMAZING! ||Our room was huge and featured a giant bath room! Loved it all! ||We would give this hotel a 5 STAR and would recommend it to friends! and we will be back!!! ||CONS: nothing major....|The owners NEED to get fresh honey and homemade jam for their guests - prepackaged items for the US is not appetizing especially for a 5 star spa resort! (especially since this town specializes in both) |They could use 2 ex floor towels in bathroom due to cold tile floor.|They could heat the pool - since it was freezing ( we only used it one day) |Their hot tub is actually a warm tube not a jacuzzi (LOL) - there are no jets. But the roof top star view is amazing and relaxing...with cocktail service! |The mattresses are extremely hard-I had a difficult time sleeping but my hubby loved it.|The Massage ladies were nice but can only give a Swedish soft massage - disappointing when we requested and paid for a deep tissue sports massage.| The septic system needs to be looked at in the bath room, our room had a sewer odor coming from it all night- so we switched rooms. ||Over-all- GREAT PLACE! If i could give zero stars i would. The incompetent front desk staff charged my credit card account twice totaling in almost 1000 USD. I realized this on my credit card account after departing and tried 5 times to call and text the hotel. They hung up on me each time and after following up with the credit card company to dispute the issue, the hotel has responded that the the double charge of my account is valid. They are completely unprofessional and unorganized. Never visiting again and definitely do not recommend to anyone looking for a hotel in Tepoztlan. Only visit if you don't mind paying double for...

The hotel has a lot of potential. They have a rooftop restaurant and great pool! The lobby was nice and quaintly established for Christmas. The hotel fell short with room aesthetics, cleanliness, and the ability to provide basic refreshments at the rooftop restaurant. We checked in and could not get our key to work, so we entered through the window. The bedding was covered in hair, both in top and under the comforter.
