My husband and I were very excited to try this place due to raving reviews. We love Mexican food and were hoping to discover some local authentic dishes. The ambience is very nice but the waiters were not friendly and were not in the mood to help us choose some of the more traditional favorites. We ended up ordering a traditional Chile Relleno with meat and sweet cold sauce and tortita de Ejotes. Subjectively, Chile Relleno was too sweet to our taste but tortitas de Ejotes were luke warm and didn’t taste very fresh. The only dish that we both enjoyed was guacamole. When the waiter asked us whether we liked Chile Relleno, we mentioned that we didn’t expect it to be sweet. His response was that most people don’t expect it to be sweet and not a lot of people usually like it. We wish he had told us this before we ordered it. Anyways, my advice would be to go to the market and have some amazing and very delicious street food. Tacos al pastor are...
Read moreWhat a waste! The four stars are mostly due to the delicious plate of cecina and its coliflower dish. According to the review, the service was at best "ok" and this was the case. If it was not for a very active and welcoming waiter (not the one assigned to the table) this dinner could have turned into a real disappointment. The waiter assigned to the table forgot one order (the sopa), dropped the plates as if delivering plates were a burden and eventually looked (or judged...) how fast the food was eaten. If only the restaurant was crowded, this would have been half-justified... If you don't mind about the unwelcoming service but only focused on food, that's the spot! Food is a bit pricy (but on the average if you compare to the choices in Tepoztlan). Plus/Minus: I couldn't disagree more about the guacamole serving here -not fresh at all! Judge by yourself as you have a clear view on...
Read moreWhen I was a little boy, my parents brought my brothers and me to eat at this beautiful restaurant, and after many years I had the opportunity to return and invite my parents. We love this place, it's amazing! This place is beautifully designed and the colorful seating areas are something to appreciate, they’re art! The old colonial style of the place is a great idea to have a wonderful lunch or a good dinner. My parents asked for typical dishes while I ordered the tasty “Chile en nogada” that I love a lot! We had a great time, and what I can I say about the staff? Well, they ran the extra mile for us, because we wanted to sit in the balcony, but there weren’t any available, so they made us order first and when a table was vacant they would let us change our table, so that was so appreciated it from us. We’ll be back once I come back to visit Mexico again,...
