Hunting Museum & Coach Museum — Attraction in Keszthelyi járás

It is a very cool place my favorite exhibition in the Festetics Garden. The coach museum has a lot of very cool coach from different times for different persons and functions and some more modern coach and cars. As for the hunting museum there are a lot lot lot of trophies of the animals hundred of them that are arranged in scenes so it is also cool to see those species up close. The only problem was that I expected the hunting museum to be about the Festetics Tímea and how they hunted what type of rifles they used what did they do with the animals etc this exhibitions is just about the collection of like a famous Hungarian hunter in the modern time we are talking 20-21th century so not very old school like we expected to see back in the...

Carriage museum has some nice exhibits. The hunting museum is a bit disturbing. Who in their right mind would turn hunters into some kind of national hero? One exhibit was labelled as having won the hunter a medal (award). My wife asked me what that means, my only thought was that he successfully bagged the last of that particular species. I only went in because of the group ticket and because the model railway exhibition, which was impressive.

sich für Kutschen, Pferdegespanne und die Anfänge der Automobilgeschichte interessiert, wird hier sicher vieles Spannende entdecken. Die Sammlung ist umfangreich und bietet zahlreiche originale Ausstellungsstücke – von prunkvollen Kutschen über historische Dokumente bis hin zu Wappen, Insignien und Videomaterial.

Für meinen Geschmack war die Präsentation allerdings etwas überladen. An den Wänden drängen sich Bilder, Schautafeln und weitere Informationen, dazu kommen die dicht aufgestellten Kutschen. Mir fehlte der Überblick, und die Fülle an Eindrücken führte eher zur Reizüberflutung als zur Vertiefung.

Ein weiterer Kritikpunkt: Bei sommerlicher Hitze entsteht in den Räumen ein unangenehmer Hitzestau. Klimatisierung gibt es keine, was den Besuch im Hochsommer deutlich erschwert. Im Vergleich dazu war es im Schloss selbst angenehm kühl und gut temperiert.

Mit dem Kombiticket „Schloss + 1 Ausstellung“ war leider nur der Besuch dieses Museums inbegriffen. Andere Ausstellungen konnten damit nicht besichtigt werden.
