Kékfestő Múzeum — Attraction in Pápai járás

This museum is a great place to visit to see the history and process for making the famous blue dyed items in Hungary. They do a nice job of displaying beautiful products as well as the old machinery and stamps used for the creation. You can see several old vats used for dipping the cloth into to get this lovely blue color. They do a guided tour as well but I think only in Hungarian language. You can meet lovely local people here. Despite very limited financial ressources they regulary organise nice events for adults and kids. A very motivated crew and friendly personel. The place is authentic, you can feel like in a time travel. The exhibition interesting and interactive. Also great with kids. I can also recommend...

Nagyon különleges és egyedi kiállítás. 2 órát simán el lehet tölteni itt, amennyiben valakit érdekel a textil művészet, a kékfestési technológiák, ipari megoldások és közel 250 éves épületrészek. Eredetileg kékfestő üzem volt, ez lett átalakítva múzeummá. Meglepő, hogy mennyire sok munkát igényel már önmagában a sablonok elkészítése. És milyen elképesztő mennyiségű mintát találunk kész anyagokként, vagy akár csak a lapozható minta-tárban. Az idegenvezető nagy tudással rendelkezik, minden érdeklődő kérdésemre kaptam választ. A szárító padlásra egy elképesztően öreg lépcsősor vezet fel, külön élmény ezen lépcsőfokokon lépkedni. Van szelfi pont is, és pihenni is lehet a kertben, ha valaki elfáradna menet közben.
