THE GEOTHERMAL BEACH. A GOLDEN BEACH IN THE NORTH Ever dreamt of sunbathing in the midnight sun, on an island in the North Atlantic? Nauthólsvík Geothermal Beach is a paradise for people who love splashing around in the ocean or sunbathing in the golden sand. The beach is equipped with changing facilities and showers, steam-baths and hot tubs. Hot water is pumped into the man-made lagoon and the outcome is a refreshing swimming area averaging between 15°-19°C in summer. ..... in winter, the water temperature drops to 3-4 degrees and these are perfect conditions for sea „cold swimming” . ... in a separate bay, the water is heated with geothermal water;) #direction_spain_across_iceland yt @dana_and_kris

What an amazing spot. A bit off the beaten track if you don't know where u are going but if you put it in to Google maps you will find it no problem. Its about a 30 min walk from the main church. We got the "hopp" electric scooters back. What a blessing around the whole city. We went in October but it was a bright sunny evening, but the water was very cold but wat a sensation when u go from tge freezing cold to the water water. Your whole body just tingles. 2 hard to explain what happens . If you are in Reykjavik this place is a most.

A great understated little local hot spring bath with amenities. Tucked away behind an airport on the water. Appeared to be a locals go-to for a routine of cold swimming in the river and then a hot soak. The place had a steam room, showers, changing room and snack bar. Cost was $6 per person to use the facility. It was close to our hotel in Reykjavik. Perfect end of the day relaxation spot to unwind. I would highly recommend this simple little gem. People were all friendly and it was open even in the snow. Check it out!

This was the best thing I have ever done! Jumping in the ocean was so rad! There's a killer steam room, geothermal pool... the place is incredible, and the people working there are awesome! As far as the photos: there are other warm pools, but I'm not going to rudely take photos of the people who were chilling there. I'm so bummed that after finally getting the huevos to check it out by myself, it's my last day here 😂🤦♂️. Soon enough, I will be back. Soon enough...

My son and I went around midday on a Wednesday in March and there were only a handful of locals in the hot springs. It was a delightful, no frills spot that I would highly recommend. The locals would alternate between dipping in the ocean and coming into the hot pool. I just alternated between the hot pool and the sauna and had a wonderfully relaxing time. Side note - you can rent towels from the kiosk.
