THE GEOTHERMAL BEACH. A GOLDEN BEACH IN THE NORTH Ever dreamt of sunbathing in the midnight sun, on an island in the North Atlantic? Nauthólsvík Geothermal Beach is a paradise for people who love splashing around in the ocean or sunbathing in the golden sand. The beach is equipped with changing facilities and showers, steam-baths and hot tubs. Hot water is pumped into the man-made lagoon and the outcome is a refreshing swimming area averaging between 15°-19°C in summer. ..... in winter, the water temperature drops to 3-4 degrees and these are perfect conditions for sea „cold swimming” . ... in a separate bay, the water is heated with geothermal water;) #direction_spain_across_iceland yt @dana_and_kris

A great understated little local hot spring bath with amenities. Tucked away behind an airport on the water. Appeared to be a locals go-to for a routine of cold swimming in the river and then a hot soak. The place had a steam room, showers, changing room and snack bar. Cost was $6 per person to use the facility. It was close to our hotel in Reykjavik. Perfect end of the day relaxation spot to unwind. I would highly recommend this simple little gem. People were all friendly and it was open even in the snow. Check it out!

This was the best thing I have ever done! Jumping in the ocean was so rad! There's a killer steam room, geothermal pool... the place is incredible, and the people working there are awesome! As far as the photos: there are other warm pools, but I'm not going to rudely take photos of the people who were chilling there. I'm so bummed that after finally getting the huevos to check it out by myself, it's my last day here 😂🤦♂️. Soon enough, I will be back. Soon enough...

A little paradise with golden sand, geothermal beach, close to ocean ,grass and rocks etc.You can enjoy hot tubs, steam bath, changing facilities with showers;sailing and sea swiming.Geothermal water and cold sea fuse together resulting high temperatures inside of lagoon...around 15-19°c in summer.Entrance is 600kr for adults and free for kids. You can rent towels, swimwear and eat in a cosy place.Definitely on of the most beautiful place in Reykjavik area.

HOT SPRING CLOSED for summer. Read for more. The beach is nice for what it is. There was one hot tub area that was luke warm (not HOT spring but certainly not cold water). However be aware that as of August 19th that for the hot spring it is closed for the summer. Saw a sign saying it was open from 15th May to August 18th. Not sure when it will reopen so just to be aware if you’re only going for that.

Friendly place with hot steam pool outside, especially recommended during cold months. For hot-loving there is wet sauna 45°C and for extreme-loving there's sea with temperature around 0°C. From steam bath or sauna you have to walk across the snow to the sea, but if you don't have special footwear, there is a tub with warm water inside the sea, so you can warm up your feet before and after swimming.
