Padmavathi Ammavari Temple, located in Tiruchanoor (Alamelu Mangapuram) near Tirupati, is dedicated to Goddess Padmavathi, who is an incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi. The temple is a significant pilgrimage site, especially for devotees visiting Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala. Here are the important points about Padmavathi Ammavari and Panchami Theertham: Padmavathi Ammavari:

Manifestation: Goddess Padmavathi is believed to have emerged from a golden lotus in the sacred Pushkarini (temple tank) at Tiruchanoor. She is the consort of Lord Venkateswara.

Significance: Devotees believe that visiting Padmavathi Ammavari and seeking her blessings is essential before visiting Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala. She represents prosperity, grace, and compassion.

Temple Highlights:

The temple's main sanctum houses a beautiful idol of Padmavathi Ammavari adorned with jewels and ornaments.

Devotees offer prayers, perform rituals, and seek blessings for wealth and happiness.

Daily Rituals and Festivals:

The temple has daily rituals, including Suprabhata Seva, Sahasranamarchana, and Harati.

Major festivals celebrated here include Karthika Brahmotsavam, Navaratri, and Varalakshmi Vratam. Panchami Theertham:

Occasion: Panchami Theertham is the most important annual festival at the Padmavathi Ammavari Temple, marking the conclusion of the Karthika Brahmotsavam. Date and Importance: It is observed on Sukla Panchami (fifth day of the waxing moon) in the Karthika Masam (usually November/December). Sacred Bathing Ritual: The festival commemorates the emergence of Goddess Padmavathi from the sacred Pushkarini. On this day, the temple Pushkarini becomes a holy site, and devotees take a ritual bath to cleanse themselves of sins. Special Celebrations: A grand procession of the Utsava Murthy (processional deity) of Padmavathi Ammavari is held. The Chakrasnanam (holy bath of the Sudarshana Chakra) is performed in the Pushkarini. Lakhs of devotees gather to witness and participate in the festivities. Spiritual Belief: It is believed that taking a holy dip in the Pushkarini during Panchami Theertham grants salvation and divine blessings.

Other Highlights of Tiruchanoor Temple:

Temple Tank (Pushkarini): The sacred Pushkarini is central to many temple rituals and festivals. Accessibility: The temple is located about 5 km from Tirupati and is easily accessible for pilgrims. Temple Prasadam: Devotees offer prayers and receive the famous temple prasadam, believed to carry the blessings of the goddess. The Padmavathi Ammavari Temple and Panchami Theertham embody devotion, tradition, and divine grace, attracting millions of...

It is believed to be the place where Goddess Lakshmi emerged from a lotus as Padmavathi Devi after Lord Vishnu as Srinivasa searched for her for 12 years and did great penance to see her again following an incident involving Sage Bhrigu in Vaikuntham.

The temple pond is maintained very neat and clean with crystal clear water, and a small part of the Pushkarini is dedicated for devotees to take bath in. It is a must visit part of one’s visit...

Water in the Pushkarini is regularly cleaned. Before Bramhotsavams every year it is dried and filled with fresh water. Especially on the last day of Bramhotsavams ( Chakra teertham day) piligrims come in a very large number to take holy dip in the Pushkarini. People will wait from night till morning on the pushkarini steps to take holy dip along with goddess on that day. On THEPPOSTAVAM days also, this Pushkarini will be crowdy...
