A Coastal Gem with an Unexpected Landmark: Our Visit to Tenneti Park

Our visit to Tenneti Park in Vizag on March 8th, 2025, was a truly delightful experience, leaving us with very positive memories. Situated beautifully along the Beach Road, perched above the coastline, the park offers absolutely stunning panoramic views of the Bay of Bengal. The sight of the waves crashing against the rocks below, framed by the park's lush greenery, was mesmerizing. Adding to the unique scenery nearby is the large Bangladeshi cargo ship, MV Maa, which famously ran aground close to the park during heavy weather a few years back. It has since become an unexpected, yet very popular, landmark and a significant point of curiosity for visitors exploring this stretch of the Vizag coast.

We found Tenneti Park itself to be a wonderfully maintained and clean urban oasis. The atmosphere on that early March day was serene and remarkably refreshing, providing a perfect escape from the city's energy. Strolling along the well-kept pathways, enjoying the cool sea breeze, was incredibly relaxing. The various viewpoints are strategically placed, offering fantastic photo opportunities to capture the coastline's dramatic natural beauty, including intriguing views towards the shipwreck. It felt like an ideal spot for both quiet contemplation and spending quality time with loved ones.

We spent a good hour just soaking in the coastal vista. For anyone visiting Vizag, Tenneti Park is highly recommended. Its unique combination of accessible natural beauty, peaceful ambiance, unforgettable ocean views, and the unusual sight of the stranded vessel nearby made our visit a definite highlight. It’s a gem showcasing Vizag's renowned coastal charm, and our experience was...

Neat and tidy well maintained park with bird eye view of the beach from the top. The greenery is eye soothing and the view from the mountain top is really mesmerizing. There are benches to sit relax and enjoy the beach view and much green lawns to sit with family and enjoy. Added attraction is the view of MV MAA cargo ship of Bangladesh anchored at the shore down the park which is to be converted into floating restaurant. Colourful butterflies can be observed on the greenery and a variety of birds can also be seen. There is a way with stairs down the park to the beach. Eateries are available on the entry side of the park and araku coffee is available opposite the park where parking is available. The view of sea from the gallery at the top is serene. Try to avoid on holidays as Huge crowd throngs around. All in all a good enjoyable family spot.

I Love this place since my childhood. When I was a kid I used to be very much excited for this place, that excitement is growing with my age. So many sweet memories as a child. I didn't forgot even one incident. It was a wonderland for me. I always ask my mom to buy an ice cream which made's my day. Now I am a Grown up, I left vizag for 4 Years for Higher Education. It is an Emotion for almost every Vizagite. This park was always well maintained since my childhood, No need of further upgradation as it was an antique. I call it as EMOTION because there is a valid reason for it, whenever you are happy you can come here, if u r sad this place will Heal u, This particular place can cope with all our "Human emotions" so I call it as EMOTION. This place had its own Aura even, Vizag being beautiful from every corner.
