Idols of Maa Durga: This has been excavated from the area where CMS School Bhagalpur is located. The statue has been named as Chaturbhuj Durga which is found riding on the Lion. As a tourist, you can see Khadag and Dhal as Maa Durga’s weapons observable in her both hands. Almost certainly, it has been assumed that the idol is holding a snake in her left hand and the right hand shows blessings to devotees. This deity is ornamented with arty jewelry and prepared on black stone dates back between 9th century and 10th century.

I recently visited this museum where we can see different historical items especially from bhagalpur as we know that in ancient times, it was the part of the Anga kingdom & capital was Champa whose evidence is also shown in the Great epic Mahabharata & many Buddhist texts. It was established on 11 November 1976 with the objective to preserve our Rich and Ancient Art, culture, civilization, and history. Here you can see the Lakulisha sculpture, Lord Ganesh Sculpture, Varaha avatar of lord vishnu, Lord Vishnu, Uma - Maheshvara, Maa Saraswati, Maa Durga, Lord Brahma, Navagraha, Baba Bhairava, Nataraja, Kamadev, Hanuman ji, Harihara pitamaha, Mahishamardini, Lord Vishnu Dashavatar, Lord Sun, saptamatrika, buddha panel, devi, votive stupa, Amorous Couple, Simhavahini Durga, Garudasana vishnu, deity, devotee, Yakshini, broken Image, Parshvanatha, Lakshmi Narayan, Pedestal of Buddhist Image, Hara- Gauri and so on. This place is lacking some renovations & modification works , it should be taken into consideration by concerned authorities in order to attract the visitors from different parts of state and country.
