Shyor Bithi Park — Attraction in Bolpur

Once a great destination for recreation, outing and amusement... this Place now have fallen from its grace .. Though the remnants of the park can still offer some amusement... this Place is good for picnic .. they have plenty of area... that can easily accomodate a group of 100 to 200 people... however they cahrge a good amount for this ( for 15 of us they charged 1000)...The main attraction of the place is a large water body ... which offers you paddel boat ridings (at extra cost of course) .. the island at the center of the Pond shelters many migratory birds ...which is another attraction for photographers... however the rest park is poorly maintained.. especially at Children's area rides are mostly rusty and broken...toilets are also at their worst conditions ... although clean.. most of the sinks and doors are broken ... pipelines are leaked ..

Despite all this you still can enjoy with your family, friends and colleagues.. because they have very large protected area for gathering and...

Shayor Bithi is near Prantik, a place about 3 kms away from Shanitniketan. It's a good place to visit with children in the evening, as it has a large area for them to run and play and a few play sets too. However,we found the play sets were not clean and not maintained. Some of them were rusted & others were beginning to break at places. The restaurant too was closed and there were no other options available for snacks or tea. It is advised that you carry your food & drinks. You are allowed to sit & eat in the Park. The Park is built around a lake that has beautiful views of the sunset. It also has an amazing collection of trees and flowers. It's a good place to walk around and enjoy the natural beauty...

Nice place for picnic ( with family or friends ) at winter time. Different picnic spots are available. Nice place for couple/pair also. You can spend a day in your own way. But little more privacy is required. In Winter session huge number of people visited here, but rest of that this park remains almost vacant. Other than winter this park is like a haven for couples, lovers. Couples can spent time closely. Nobody disturb them. This is a great place for couples. Entry free only Rs.20/-. Monday closed.
