Mache Vate Bangali — Restaurant in Bolpur

The hotel Rangamati garden resort recommended me to go there to enjoy Bengali cuisine. My review Taste is good. Lots of choices in chicken and fish dish Took about 30 min to deliver . Now coming to the cons Locations is far Prices are exorbitant and very high compared to the taste and quantity delivered. I purchased chicken dishes in which the 4 pieces were not adequate in size though taste was ok Bhetki paturi is priced at 280. While I got only a small piece of paturi at that price. Coming to chingri, I took chingri chachhori, which was filled with shorshe posto with alu and I could find only 5 to 6 pieces of chingri and that was really third class ...they should name it aluposto with sorshe not chingri chcchhori. Theydont provide discount when u go there and have food. Better to order from Zomato ...

Now coming to conclusion.... Prices of Bengali food are comparatively very high in comparison to Roshnai shakuntala and ram shyam amar kutir hensel and orchid adda where the prices are close to 70to 80 rupees less. Veg thali of Rs 170 is decent though.. one can try that. But I would recommend people to try other restaurants as named by me...

Recently we(me & my better half) have visited "Mache Vate Bengali" (মাছে ভাতে বাঙ্গালী) for lunch. We took two veg thalis and topped up with a non-veg side dish(Chicken Dak Bungalow) and it was sufficient for the two of us. We thought to try some other dishes but we became full and also were in a little rush.

The ambience of this restaurant is pretty nice. The eating place is very spacious and full of natural light with big windows. Loved the decoration and sitting arrangement overall. It is equipped with air-conditioners but we visited in winter.

Food is good but I have some views on the portions of the items inside thali. Though we found rice is repeatable and might also be the case with dal and some other items but the initial portions could have been better in my opinion.

But the taste of the food was very good and I don't have any complaints regarding their services either. I would definitely visit them again. I would recommend trying the Chicken Dak Bungalow as I found...

Worst Restaurant Ever. It caused us Food poisoning.Pls it's a request to everyone to not visit this restaurant. I am writing this as I just visited the restaurant two days ago and as it is the Holi season now .I want you to know that they serve stale food and I can guarantee you their kitchen environment has a lot of bugs and flies. We visited with family and ordered dal posto, doi katla in lunch. In the evening there was an Uneasiness as we reached hotel I started feeling sick and vomiting feeling , it was the dal that was food poisoned each and everyone of us vomitted, felt sick , the whole evening we were feeling so tired, and loose motion, we weren't able to have our dinner, the nxt morning I had puffed rice, even that came out , it means the food was so poisoned that it my system was not able to take puffed rice. So pls don't ever have anything from there for the sake of...
