Entry Fee: There is no entry fee to visit the temple. The Shri Maa Vaishnodevi Temple in Ahmedabad is a prominent Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Vaishnodevi, a manifestation of Goddess Durga. Located on National Highway 147 (also known as Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway), it's a significant pilgrimage site in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Here's a summary of its key features: Replica Temple: It's a replica of the original Vaishno Devi Temple in Jammu and Kashmir, aiming to offer devotees a similar spiritual experience. Architecture: The temple is situated on an artificial hillock, simulating the mountain environment of the original shrine. This circular hill is built of yellow sandstone and features intricate carvings and sculptures of various gods and goddesses. Layout: Pilgrims journey through a man-made cave to reach the main shrine at the top of the hill, replicating the experience of visiting the original temple. Significance: It's a popular destination, particularly during the Navratri festival, attracting large numbers of devotees who seek the blessings of Goddess Vaishnodevi. Accessibility: The temple is situated approximately 19 km from Ahmedabad Junction and is well-connected by road, rail, and air. The nearest bus stop is at Vaishanavdevi Circle. Timings: The temple is generally open for darshan from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM. However, it's worth noting that one source states the temple is only open until 7 PM and that there are restricted entry times during Aarti (6:00 PM to 6:45 PM). Dress Code: While not strictly enforced, it's advisable to wear modest attire that covers the upper arms and legs as a mark of respect.

Yesterday, I visited a beautiful temple, and I have to say—the location and the view felt truly royal. If you're thinking about going, the best part is that it's not crowded or chaotic. It's peaceful, and you can easily plan it as a one-day trip. You’ll be able to return the same day without any hassle. Here’s how I did it: I booked an Uber for the whole day. When you book, just select the "intercity" or "outstation" option and choose your pickup time, date, and return time (that part is required). Then, pick the type of cab you want—whether it's "intercity" or "suden" (the main difference is just the size of the vehicle). The driver will pick you up right from your location. One very important thing to keep in mind: the temple is located near the Gujarat–Rajasthan border, in a place called Ratanpur. Now here’s the tricky part—when booking your cab, make sure to select Ratanpur, Gujarat. Even though it’s the same place, if you select Ratanpur, Rajasthan, the price might be higher because crossing state borders can increase the fare. Choosing Ratanpur in Gujarat keeps the cost lower. Also, if you want to explore nearby spots, Uber lets you add extra stops. After visiting Ratanpur, I added another destination: Dungarpur, which is just 30 km away. It’s a lovely town with a peaceful lake and the beautiful Uday Vilas Palace ,Samba ji (lord krishna)—definitely worth a visit if you have time. Hope this helps you plan your trip smoothly!

Ahmedabad, the sixth largest city of the country proffers a myriad of temples, mosques and haveli that reflects the Maratha, Mughal, British and Gujarati influences in its culture, art and architecture. Apart from its historic monuments the people of Gujarat have also established temples that create an aura of divinity and serenity. One such temple is the Vaishnodevi Temple. Vaishnodevi Temple at Katra in Jammu and Kashmir is one of the most significant Hindu temples in India. Devotees throng the temple with the faith that the goddess fulfils their wish and is considered to be one of the most sacred temples in India. To give a real feel of the environment of the sacred temple, it has been set above a mock hill. A man made stone hill made out of yellow sandstone is in a circular shape that houses several beautiful carvings and sculptures of gods and goddess.
