Shri Kalu Siddh Temple in Haldwani sits right at the Kaladhungi chowk, built long ago and lovingly maintained as the guardian shrine of the city. Thousands of devotees visit throughout the week, especially on Saturdays and Tuesdays when the crowd swells with hope and faith .
It has recently been beautifully rebuilt in traditional North Indian Nagara style with marble carvings and multiple deities including Shani Dev, Shri Goljyu Dev, Ram Darbar, and Durga Mata. The new temple opened officially with a grand deities' consecration event (Pran Pratishtha) on June 7, 2025, attended by CM Pushkar Singh Dhami .
The temple is simple yet vibrant—a compact courtyard space surrounded by stalls selling puja items, snacks, and the famous gud ki bheli (jaggery sweets), which devotees offer to Baba in faith, believing it brings their wishes to fruition . Locals say Baba’s blessings are real—if you pray with genuine heart, your murrads (wishes) often come true.
It’s right beside a busy road junction, so expect a bit of traffic and urban noise outside—but step inside and you feel a spiritual calm. There’s no formal parking lot, so it’s best visited on foot or via rickshaw from nearby areas. The temple opens early (around 6 AM) and stays open until 8 PM, making it convenient for both morning prayers and evening darshan .
Devotees should keep some coins handy for offerings and tongue-cooling gud sweets. There are basic shops nearby for tea and prasad purchases. The temple space is modest but well-kept—cleaned frequently and watched over by local caretakers. It feels deeply rooted in the people’s daily life in Haldwani.
