Amazing 😍😍😍 You have to trek 2 Kms from Om Beach. Try to to be there by 4 PM. So that you can even cover Paradise Beach from there and walk back to Om Beach in the same way. Since there is no vehicle route from there, you have to trek or take boat ride back to reach Om Beach. Avoid trekking after 7 PM. A lot of wild animals in the forest and it is not safe. Always follow the Google Maps by Walk and Directions written over the trekking path to reach Half Moon Beach. There will be less crowd. You can enjoy. There is no shops or snacks available in Half Moon Beach. So take drinking water and snacks while visiting Half Moon Beach. Be careful. In the middle you have to walk om top of the beach. It is a view point. Avoid taking pictures and videos most of the time over there. Don't play music and make noise while trekking. Be polite and responsible. Keep the wrappers and bottles with your bag. Don't throw it in the go while trekking!

I was with my sister for almost three weeks at the Arya Ayurvedic Panchakarma Centre on Kudle Beach in Dec. 24. The Panchakarma treatment did us both an incredible amount of good. The food was healthy, fresh and individually Ayurvedic, tailored to my needs. The kitchen crew was always accommodating and spoiled us with delicious freshly squeezed juices and tasty soups, for example. During a cooking class, various Indian dishes were prepared in front of our eyes and we could ask the friendly chef anything. At the end, we ate everything up :)

Besides more and different daily treatments i was able to enjoy everyday two wonderful full body massages - sometimes carried out synchronously by the technically very well-trained young masseuses!

I have never experienced such pleasant massages in my life! I will always remember the Ayurvedic back massage in particular because the masseuse managed to loosen deep-seated tensions and my back pain was almost gone afterwards!

A detailed treatment plan was also drawn up and discussed with me and explained in detail. The two wonderful, patient, talented and empathetic Ayurvedic doctors Dr. Navya and Dr. Shilna were always attentive and ready to talk if I had questions. I felt very well looked after and well treated. Dr. Kiran also came to the center for rounds and took time from morning to evening to see all the patients and have detailed medical discussions with them all. I will not forget what he told me and will take it to heart because he hit the nail on the head with me.

During my stay I had very severe knee pain and received special treatments (twice daily knee massages, bandages with warm oil and Janu Vasti) for the pain with Ayurvedic oil for joint pain, which worked very quickly so that I was soon able to walk short distances again without pain.

At this point I would like to say a big thank you to the doctors again! My health has improved greatly thanks to the use of your medical advice, your medicine and the whole new Ayurvedic way of life.

And a big thank you to the friendly Vera who was happy to lend me her own clothes when my suitcase arrived late! She is the good soul of the center and easily solves the small and large problems that arise in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. When I suddenly had such severe knee pain, she immediately organized a room for me next to the restaurant so that I didn't have to walk far to eat and to the therapies.

In general, all the employees at the center were very friendly and polite. I felt very comfortable - like "en famille".

I only knew a little about Ayurveda from books before, but at the Arya Ayurvedic Pancharma Centre all my wishes and hopes for an effective Ayurveda treatment were fully fulfilled and I am still enjoying the after-effects of the fantastic treatment back...

The third beach on the Gokarna town coast line is the Half Moon beach. This beach is not connected by road and hence can only be accessed by hiking or by the motor boats that ply from Om beach.

To hike to Half Moon beach, one should walk towards the southern end of Om beach and walk up a narrow trail that leads to Dolphin cafe. This cafe has a very beautiful location overseeing the entire cost of Om beach. Just outside the cafe there is a white sign board indicating the direction towards Half Moon beach. After about a few minutes into the hike one will encounter a fork in the hiking trail.

At this point take a right which will take one around the coast.  The left trail will take one through the forest and into thorny bushes but will also lead to Half Moon beach. The hiking path along the coast is narrow and to the left of the trail are the hills and the right the deep blue sea and watch your step while hiking along this narrow trail.

After hiking round the first hill, one will again encounter a fork in the trail. This time take the left trail that leads to the forest since the other trail has a very steep slope and a sight misbalance can result in disaster.  After about a five minute walk through the forest one will again have to walk around the hill.

The view of the sea coast from the hill is just breath taking. This walk around the hill the second time around takes about four to five minutes to reach Half Moon beach.

This beach earns its name because of its similarities to a Half Moon. The beach has plenty of rocks and a small patch of sand. The sand on this beach is sparkling clean.

Accommodation at this beach is seasonal from the months of November to February with locals setting up make-shift huts for accommodation. These huts are very affordable with very basic accommodation and no electricity.

The shack restaurants have generators that power up the place. The food served at these shacks is very tasty but also expensive since all the food products have to be shipped to the beach by the motor boats. Beer is also sold at these shacks and is priced about 40% more than the cost price.

It is advisable to avoid swimming too deep near Half Moon beach since the currents are very strong and there have been cases of people drowning. Also avoid hiking this trail during the monsoon since the path is very slippery and hard to navigate. Avoid hiking back to Om beach after sun down since there are chances of  getting lost in the forest or even falling off one of the cliffs.

Half Moon beach mostly attracts foreign hippie travellers who make this beach their shelter away from all civilization. This beach is not a place for families but an ideal place for travellers and backpackers looking to...

Half Moon Beach is one of the wonderful beaches in the town of Gokarna of Karnataka. The beach looks like a half moon from top of the hillocks surrounding it. Half Moon Beach is a small beach separated by a cliff from the Om beach. It has a remarkable resemblance with the shape of a half moon thus getting its name. A leisurely walk along the coastline allows one to experience the grandeur of the infinite ocean ahead and the lush green forest behind. Several traditional village huts can be spotted by the beach giving a homely feel. Exciting activities which includes paddle boating, swimming, canoeing, camping and cabin. There is also a paintball arena where one can enjoy with their groups.

The most thrilling part of this place is the hiking trail which leads from the Om Beach to reach Half Moon Beach. Towards the end of the southern part of the Om beach there is a narrow trail which leads to the Dolphin café. There is signal on a white board outside of the café indicating the further direction. Few minutes of hiking on rocky and bushy terrain will lead to the Half Moon Beach. One must be careful while hiking this trail. Sunbathing during the day and gazing at the shimmery stars lying at a hammock at night can also make the stay at this...
