Kufri Adventure Ride is a scam.
First, they lure us in with a fixed price of ₹1500 per person, claiming it includes the adventure ride, horse ride, and everything else. But after we ride the horse, they drop us off at a spot and from there, we have to walk a long distance to reach the actual adventure ride area. To cover that distance, we’re told to take another Jeep ride — which costs an extra ₹1000.
The so-called “viewpoint” is barely visible to the naked eye. They provide a binocular and call it a “telescope,” charging ₹250 per person just to use it. They also claim that children can join the adventure ride for free, but once you try to take them on the zipline, they suddenly charge an extra ₹200 per child.
All the food and snacks sold in that area are highly overpriced. The place is full of dust, and you’re left wondering when you can get out and go back. They’ve blocked off most of the mountain and natural scenic spots, so visitors can’t truly enjoy the view.
As for the “apple orchard,” it’s another big scam. In places like Shimla, you can easily see real apple orchards, but here they just show you a bag labeled as one. Overall, this place is run by private individuals who’ve set up a few amusement activities, and they’re exploiting tourists by charging for everything — Jeeps, horses, entry, etc.
