Read moreWe had booked this Hotel on our honeymoon in March 2017 unfortunately the city experienced a heavy snow fall. This hotel is in outskirts of Shimla & being very much on top of Kufri, the roads were loaded with snow. We reached Shimla around 8pm in the evening & tried calling the hotel & expressed that our driver cannot take us up with the current condition of roads & requested the team to manage any low budget hotel than this resort for us as we had tried our best to get other good hotels having heaters but almost all of them were booked. We understand that the hotel staff were absolutely not responsible for the sudden bad condition of weather but they could have managed some alternate low budget hotel for us as we had already paid the full amount in advance & also suggested the same to them telling that this way they will still be at profit & we will get a good place to stay as that was our first visit. But sad to mention that our call was just transferred from one phone to another. We neither got a call back from them nor an alternate stay option nor our money. Finally we booked an available hotel without heater & suffered. The point in saying all this is that when someone is travelling all the way long to a distant place keeping faith in you while paying all the charges in advance in return they expect a good service or at least little help when weather is bad cause you know that place better than the travelers. Team could have managed to make it little smooth for us but they chose not to help....
Read moreI'd rate it 4.5 star on Service and helpfulness of the staff. This property is right opposite the Kufri spot for tourism and hence is pretty much bustling with tourist activity right on the road. Since this is at a height, tourist activity doesn't disturb the peace. We were upgraded to a deluxe room, which I can say is fairly large. The rooms have gorgeous Himalaya views. The clincher is that this is not an upscale property. Room amenities are old and so is the decor. The rooms get fairly cold (due to the winter weather). The room heaters help however they could do much more to make the room and the stay experience meaningful. Additionally, no geyser facility. They have a boiler that provides hot water to all the rooms at designated times of the day. Any other time and you don't have access to running hot water. This was a massive let down for us and we discovered it only when we did the check in. The staff however made multiple exceptions to help us with our requirement of hot water and other amenities. Toiletries in the washroom are very very basic and you should hence carry your own when visiting this place. Sheets could be cleaner. The room service is good however they may take time since the property is multi tiered. Good also ain't great, especially the breakfast spread was very basic. Overall, I'd say don't expect a 4 star modern property treatment, you won't be...
