Extremely Disappointing Experience at Jalvihar – Not Worth Visiting for Families
We visited Jalvihar with high expectations, especially for our children, but the experience turned out to be extremely disappointing. What was meant to be a fun and memorable day quickly became frustrating due to poor maintenance, lack of hygiene, and unprofessional staff.
Entry Fee & Value for Money: We paid ₹550 per person, including for children, which is expensive given the poor condition of the park. Shockingly, our 10-year-old child was only allowed on one ride. Children between 8–15 years are not permitted on most adult rides and also not allowed in the children’s pool, which leaves them with almost nothing to do. In other water parks we’ve visited, kids have had so much fun that we couldn't finish all the rides in a single day. In contrast, at Jalvihar we were bored within 30 minutes and felt like leaving.
Rides & Slides: Many rides were either non-functional or not allowed for vague "security" reasons. The slides that were open were old, rusted, and not maintained. Instead of sliding smoothly, we got stuck midway or flipped awkwardly, which was both unsafe and uncomfortable. Inflatable tubes had to be carried up four floors using heavily rusted and unsafe metal stairs—any injury here could easily require a tetanus shot. The stairs and structure overall looked neglected and hazardous.
Pools & Water Quality: The water in all pools was visibly dirty. Algae and fungal growth were seen in multiple places. It looked like the water hadn’t been changed in a long time . The children’s pool has been oddly designated as “Women and Children Only,” which is highly inconvenient for single parents or fathers with children. On top of that, this pool is visible to everyone from the outside, so there's no privacy. The water here was also filled with green algae and had an unpleasant smell, making it unsuitable for children.
Staff & Communication: Most of the staff appeared untrained and could not communicate in Telugu, Hindi, or English. Simple instructions became difficult to understand. On top of that, many of them were rude or unresponsive. There was no sense of customer service or assistance throughout the park.
Wave Pool & Rain Dance: The wave pool and rain dance were the only marginally enjoyable attractions. However, even here, the floor had sharp stones and sand, and we got bruises just sitting at the entrance area. There was no music during the wave session, making it dull. To make matters worse, someone vomited in the wave pool and no one from the staff cleaned it for a long time, we left from this also. The rain dance had potential but was let down by the DJ playing only English rock music. Including local or Telugu songs would have made it more lively and fun.
Cleanliness & Facilities: Walking paths were extremely hot due to worn-out white paint, making barefoot walking unbearable even in August. Paint was peeling, and many places looked poorly maintained.
Food: The restaurant area was one of the worst aspects. A strong foul smell similar to rats or drainage was present, and the food hygiene levels were shocking. Despite not allowing outside food, the food inside was unhygienic and unsafe. Toilet: The toilets were filthy, smelly, and posed a serious health risk. The stench even reached nearby pool and ride areas.
Additional Attractions: The Ghost House and Mirror Maze were okay at best but require an additional ₹60 each for 2–5 minutes of entertainment. These could have been included in the entry fee or at least priced more reasonably.
Overall Atmosphere: The air quality in the area was bad, possibly due to its proximity to Hussain Sagar. We noticed significant tanning and skin darkening just after a short stay—most likely due to the unclean water and harsh conditions. The park was nearly empty when we visited (hardly 50 people), and now we...
Read moreGood and best amusement park at low costs when compared to Ocean park . The company once owned and operated Paramount's Kings Island, Paramount's Kings Dominion, Paramount's Great America, Paramount's Carowinds, andParamount Canada's Wonderland and managed Bonfante Gardens in Gilroy, California. From late 2001 until late 2004, Paramount Parks also managed Terra Mítica, an amusement park in Benidorm, Valencia, Spain. On January 1, 2006, as Viacom went through a corporate split (creating a new version of Viacom and renaming the original company CBS Corporation), Paramount Parks was assigned to CBS Corporation. CBS Corporation, in order to "toss overboard" any unnecessary company assets, sought to sell the parks during the 2006 season, planning to continue their operation until a buyer was found. Cedar Fair Entertainment Co., owners of more well known Cedar Pointand Knott's Berry Farm theme parks approached the company in 2006. They officially purchased the parks and a 10-year license, stating that the parks could continue to use the "Paramount" prefix and the titles of any Paramount movies effectively until 2017. However, after poor sales and problems from poor solvency, all references to Paramount/CBS-licensed properties were removed from the parks in 2007. The only references to a Viacom property remaining were the characters and titles used in Nickelodeon Universe (Kings Island) and Nickelodeon Central (Kings Dominion, Carowinds, Great America, and Canada's Wonderland), all of which were rethemed to the children's area utilized by Cedar Fair's own legacy parks, Peanuts for the 2010 season. In June 2007, it was revealed that a Paramount Park was to be developed and opened at the Dubailand complex (which itself is currently on hold) in the United Arab Emirates. No clear developments have been made, and it is likely the project has been abandoned. In October 2011, plans for a new Paramount theme park to be developed in Alhama, Murcia were revealed in Madrid. The resort to be called Paramount Park is to be the second-largest theme park in Europe after Disneyland, Paris. Projects to continue with the construction of the park have been scrapped. In December 2018, it was announced that Paramount Pictures signed a deal with Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment to install the first Paramount-branded theme park in Incheon, South Korea. It is slated to open in 2025, three years after Inspire Integrated Entertainment Resort's opening. Paramount and Daewoo Motor Sales previously announced in 2008 that it will build Paramount Movie Park Korea in Songdo near Incheon, but the plans was never announced due to financial problems of Daewoo...
Read moreThis water park is undoubtedly one of the worst in India, with misleading Tripadvisor or Google reviews and photos painting a far rosier picture than reality. Despite the enticingly low entry fees of around 550 rupees for adults and 450 rupees for children under 3 feet, including infants, the actual experience falls far short of expectations. During my visit, I was dismayed to find the park crowded with locals, which made for an uncomfortable atmosphere, especially for families and women seeking a safe and pleasant environment.
Furthermore, the park's facilities are in a sorry state, with slimy pool surfaces and unpleasant odors pervading the area. Only a handful of adult slides were operational, and even those suffered from poor water flow and cleanliness issues. The children's slides were similarly problematic, with one frequently causing kids to get stuck. The wave pool, while initially appealing, proved too shallow for taller individuals, posing safety risks exacerbated by the absence of trained lifeguards.
Many families chose to leave upon witnessing the park's dismal condition, while others found amusement in its inadequacies. Adding to the disappointment is the park's strict dress code, which bans Lycra and Nylon swimwear, forcing visitors to rent clothing on-site. Coupled with the lack of refunds and subpar game facilities, it's no wonder visitors leave dissatisfied.
Safety remains a major concern, highlighted by the overwhelming smell of chemicals used to mask pool odors. This unsettling practice only serves to deter families from enjoying the attractions. In summary, this water park's dismal state and disregard for visitor satisfaction cement its reputation as a regrettable destination, earning it the dubious title of India's worst water park experience for many. If I would had option for zero rating I...
