Saturn-transit Legends of Skandagiri Temple: Skandagiri Sri Subrahmanya Swamy Temple This temple was built in the year 1960, by a group of passionate devotees. They are ardent devotees of Lord Subramanya, who formed a committee to celebrate the Aadi Krithigai. They wanted to get the idol of Lord Ganesha from the Chapati in Chidambaram. Lord Subramanya himself appeared in their dreams and asked them to avoid salt until the construction of the temple was completed. The Chapati completed the idol of Lord Ganesha, and it was time to install the idol in the temple. The committee members were looking for a suitable place. Kanchi Mahaperiyava was touring Hyderabad and found a suitable hillock with mystical powers. He felt it would make a good abode for Lord Subramanya. Swamigal himself performed the Sankabhishegam of Lord Ganesha. It was in the year 1960, and the idols of Lord Subramanya, along with Valli and Devasena, were also installed. Skandagiri sri shanmukha swami devalayam also known as subrahmanya swami, blessed to have my first visit unexpectedly on subrahmanya shashti, the temple is situated on top of a hill padmarao nagar back side of Gandhi hospital secunderabad. On ground floor lord hanuman give blessings to devotees by standing and in namaskaram mudra, on 1st floor the beautiful white colored lord subrahmanya will give blessing to devotees with his wife's. Lord ganesha, lord ekambreshwara, goddess kamakshi, lord dakshina murthy, goddess durga on standing position will give blessings to devotees. It seems that much care has been taken in custructing the temple and every minute detail is covered keeping in view of the traditions like for example near dwaja sthambam shastanga namaskaram on ground floor is made as a murthi so as to understand that the devotees should do the same here without interrupting to others. Lord bhairava, lord shanmukha are also there for giving blessings to devotees. There are washrooms provided in the back of the temple for devotees convenience on 1st floor but it is sensible to use minimum services being temple. Out side the temple flowers, coconuts and other puja samagri are available and bookstall and children toys will be sold. Whenever you want to visit skandagiri make sure to bring pomegranates from home of 6 number being lord subrahmanya astrologically will benefit the devotee. Also offering red color flowers will do better. The Only thing missing is proper footwear stand needs to be organised. Rest assured you can find the difference in your feelings after the Darshan with divine...

Located in the heart of Padmarao Nagar in Secunderabad, this is of the most famous temple of Lord Sri Subramanyaswamy. The temple is on a small hillock. One needs to visit the temple to experience its aura. I visited the temple in the evening at around 05:00 pm, you can hear old. & young men & women singing bhajans of Subramanyaswamy, its pure bliss listening to them. The temple is undergoing construction and renovation works but the divinity is ever present. One needs to climb dozen or two stairs to reach the temple sanctum. Lift is also available for Senior Citizens. There's an automatic ticket dispensing machine for Archana, Deepam and Archana + Deepam tickets. Tickets are priced nominally @ Rs. 10/- & Rs. 20/- respectively. Don't forget to take the prasadam once you exit down the stairs to your right. The temple also has a bookstore & artifacts store at the ground floor near the exit. One more attraction besides the temple is the temple of Lord Hanuman, must visit.
